Not a chance !!

Did any other AFL Club pick him up ....surely they could see what we couldn't .....nah, they saw what we saw

Is he currently playing regular SANFL footy ?
I think we should have given him a shot, we were shit, we had nothing to lose giving him a crack after one of his decent games. Strike while the iron is hot, give the supporters something to look forward to.

Fairly typical that we played it very conservatively with him.

There’s a fair line in front of him for small/medium defenders. The depth list for small/medium forwards includes 1 name, either Pedlar or Taylor.
Indy Cotton is KPP height at 194cm and possibly still growing given he's only 18.

Doesn’t look like he’s going to hit key player size to me, more tall flanker. So I don’t see him as depth for Murray or Keane, maybe Woz, but he’s a very strong bloke. I highly doubt he’ll end up in the KPP depth charts. But who knows.

He's already in the same height range as Keane, Murray, Worrell, Walker and Fogarty at 18. That usn't in the small/medium range you quoted.

Small/medium to me is playing style, not height. I categorise into 2 groups, small/medium and key. Height is irrelevant. I wouldn’t categorise Lukoscius as a key tall because he doesn’t play that way. But you’re free to only consider height and ignore playing style.

So you've seen Indy Cotton play AFL, you're a very rare breed that's for sure.

It sounds like he’s very athletic for his size, so for me it’s hard to say either way what he’s going to be, currently

We’ll see where the club positions him

One things for absolute certain he'll never be a small/medium anything wherever he plays.

I did recently hear he has had a late growing spurt. It may have even been Hamish or Reid that mentioned it. Will be interesting to see what the Crows website list his height as when it is soon updated to include the new recruits.

So, he really didn't have the hunger to play AFL ....otherwise Newchurch would be trying to stay in the AFL glare & trying to prove the Crows were wrong in his delisting

So unusual for an Indigenous person after spending a few years in the city wanting to go back and be with his family connections where he grew up.

It really isn't that hard to comprehend that people are saying that he played some decent seconds games, could have been given a game in our first team, I mean we gave Murphy around 120 charity games, would it have killed us to have given Newchurch a handful of games?

AFC list Cotton at 194

Like the game where he was best on, or near it and actually fed Murphy some cheap goals, and then we go and pick Lacking Murphy for a game that was perfect for a Newchurch debut, then in a complete shock to everyone Newchurch has a stinker in the SANFL. Bad player development.

Oh and Murphy did **** all in the AFL side, other than his usual moves of getting in the way of our key forwards because he loved "leaping" for the ball like a KPF.

Low energy coaching and development from a low energy loser coach.

Hopefully we have the people in place to counteract this now and prevent further ruining of careers.

Have a few mates who starred in 80s football in SANFL who were adamant that Newchurch should have been moved up to the next level to see how he coped.

He may well have been shit but just one of those runs that he was capable of may have had him thinking "I belong here".

But we took over 100 games to decide Murphs didn't have it
