Balyn O'Brien

Unless he orders some dodgy Uber eats and shits on Carr's desk, Stephenson would have one spot locked up. So really it's 3 competing for the 1 remaining spot. As long as we aren't taking an undersized SANFL midfielder, to then play out of position as a small forward at AFL level most games, it won't make a big difference who is picked.

Stephenson most likely will win a spot. So it comes down to BOB, Zadow and O O O O'Brien for the last spot.

I wonder if Port can take the two players not chosen for the SSP into their SANFL program and see how they perform?

Balyn O'Brien looks taller than his advertised 187cm and seems to have put on some size since the sanfl finals. Could be photo illusion too. Does look very fit and rangy.

Is fit and rangy the new speed and endurance blend?

So from another post the top 5 were:
1) Willem Drew.
2) Jack Watkins.
3) Jacob Wehr.
4) Lachie Jones.
5) Darcy Byrne-Jones.

For a guy of his size Lachie Jones finishing 4th in the 2km time trial is impressive, all the others are more your lightweight runners build.

To me someone with a solid build like him finishing high in the running time trials, shows he puts in a lot of work and has a great natural tank.

I see him having the most potential and scope for improvement as any player on our list. if he can just get his confidence up and improve his decision making he could easily be a top 5 player at the club.

Great to see two new boys to the AFL list in the top 3.

For the first time in probably over 15 years it feels like there is a bit of drive in the group.
It gives you a clue as to why Carr has selected some guys that others have questioned.

Wanting to lift the on track standards it would seem.

On that note where's Will Brodie?

Last year I got laughed at for suggesting he could be a future AA. He has all the tools just needs to put it all together consistently.
