France's 4-0 win over Ukraine in this morning's qualifiers, cemented top spot in their group confirming qualification to the 2026 World Cup!

26 spots for the FJGD WC remain!

Another nation qualifies this morning as Croatia's 3-1 win over Faroe Islands secures top spot in their group!
Faroe Island's loss eliminates them from play-off contention and Czechia cements 2nd moving them to the play-offs

At this stage, just 1 more user is needed for a 24 team format!​

We've hit 24 entrants!

A big thanks to all submitting their expressions of interest! Still a long way to go, if things stay as they are, either all 24 entrants will be given 2 teams or we'll go with 6 groups with 4 teams, Top 2 in each after all 3 group games go through to the knockouts and the 4 best 3rd place finishers out of the 6 groups will advance too

If we hit 32 , we'll do a classic World Cup format with the Top 32 ranked teams (based on the FIFA Men's World Ranking) out of the 48 qualified teams

2 more nations qualified this morning as Norway made sure there was.....NorWay Italy would pull off a dream 9-0 drubbing for automatic qualification. Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week! A 4-1 thumping giving the Nordic side their 4th ever World Cup appearance


And after the worldwide attention of Ireland's win over Portugal, their chances of automatic qualification relied on beating Hungary and Portugal losing to Armenia. Ireland did beat Hungary 3-2 thanks to a stoppage time winner by Parrott, but it was Portugal who ended up with the 9 goals to their name giving them automatic qualification and sending Ireland to the play-offs

Nine years since I got to take my Portugal to the final of a World Cup comp on FJGD… wonder if I’ll get to do the same next year?

2 YUGE nations secured qualification this morning!​

First up, Germany with a resounding 6-0 win over Slovakia condemning them to the play-offs. And 3rd placed Northern Ireland advance to the play-offs too due to being 1 of the 4 best ranked group winners from the 2024–25 UEFA Nations League

Continuing the FJGD World Cup trivia, yours truly was given 'Die Mannschaft' in the 2018 FJGD WC and just like the real national team, I succumbed to the champions curse and bowed out in the group stage. Albeit, one nation in my group went on to win the whole thing (ScottFreo's Sweden)

The 'Oranje' enjoyed an unbeaten qualifying campaign finishing with a 4-0 win over Lithuania. Poland secure 2nd and a spot in the play-offs

Some more trivia, you have to go back to April 2013 for The Netherland's last championship win on this board, one of the earliest competitions to grace this board made by EagleOz, The ACFFL (All Club Fantasy Football League) basically turning any sporting club into an Aussie Rules team, and the first instalment is where lmach's Netherlands FC secured glory against the Queensland Reds
