Society/Culture Woke. Can you tell real from parody? - Part 2 - And now with added metal

Well, how else am I to take the post?

You're saying, pretty openly, that we've brought in too many people. We had just under 50% less people in 1975, so when you say that the ship is sailed here I'm reckoning you're probably talking post that time period. Then, you look at the biggest difference between those brought in before that - that being, in the main, white Europeans - and those after that - a far more open policy when it comes to who gets to come here and stay - and it becomes pretty obvious what is meant.

You would have to be quite singularly oblivious for the coincidence to fail to strike you that the second we began to let in people from other parts of the world than Europe, you decide that was when we needed to stop bringing people in.

With regards to?
I explain, if I said we need to curb migration, and that makes me a racist in your eyes, and you chose to ignore all the positive things I said, then what is your thought process?

Equality does NOT mean erasure of culture, Vassp. It means that every person, regardless of culture or gender, is equal before the law with exactly the same advantage without discrimination.

It means that you and I are of the exact same worth as sentient beings, regardless of what colour our skin is or what accent or language we employ or whether we choose to believe in 'higher powers' outside humanity or not.
I agree with the first part.....
I agree with the second part....

I didnt say anything different.

Oh were you being woke and talking about the first fleet?
Woke would be the posters arguing with me. :p

THE problem with this forum, is that everyone jumps to conclusions without spending a min or two to read the posts properly.

But erasure of culture does, but not in the way you were thinking.
'Equality' advances the idea of universal human rights. A collective humanity. The only aspects of culture that universal human rights wish to trample down are those that assert gender and/or cultural supremacy of one to the exclusion of others.

As I see it that is the only bit of cultural homogenisation that the advancement of universal human rights seek to impose - a commonality of the values of respect. What is wrong with that?

This is what you said that I objected to:
The damage was done years ago, thanks.
... because it's taking issue not with the levels of migration but the types of people migrating with the word, 'damage'. This is made rather clear with the posts you've replied to, which you clearly did not read. If you had, you might actually notice that I didn't call you racist.

Consider explaining yourself a little better, Vassp. It might cut down on the gettting huffy and outraged section of the conversation after you've said something inflammatory or poorly worded.

Are you open to the idea that maybe you could make your points more clearly to ensure there is no confusion?

And perhaps answer clarifying questions properly?

I agree that I need to spend a bit more time on my posts, works been nuts.

You still have to own your thought process though......

Pot meets kettle.
I can show you examples if you wish to go down that rabbit hole, but its not in the spirit of the holidays and also not moving forward.

Anyway, let's all enjoy the holidays and not get too worked up.

Is there a thread on youth crime? If not can you make one?

You can make one. Select 'Post thread' at the top of the SRP general forum - or if you wanted to make it specifically to Australia, put it on Aust Pol - and provide the opening post and your pretext.

Just bear in mind the fact-based nature of this forum and forum rules.

Everyone should be treated equally and fairly. Including Aboriginal peoples.
We can't be moving forward, if we are looking for apologies, and excuses for governments to make a cut on every little transaction like they are now.

I have ideas on this, it's kind of sitting in a weird spot in my mind......
I'm not talking about exclusion, extortion, domination, or anything of that nature. I am totally against it.

I am talking about the fabric of culture, and how culture relates to flavours and thought processes.

I argued with a friend about flavours and cultures. What I said it would be great if some countries kept their cultures, food, architecture etc....

Now she called it narrow-minded, and I got a spicy verbal reaction, similar to what we get here from our woke posters. :p.

So then I said ok, do you like to travel? She said yes. Where to, I said? She said, id like to go to Japan, on that medieval town tour. I said Great, looks very interesting, I did consider that myself.

Then I said, What if those medieval towns didn't look the way they did? Didn't have the classic Japanese architecture, didn't have Japanese foods, didn't have the culture of Japanese people. Would you still go?

She was getting a bit riled up....

I said, you know that Thai restaurant you were raving about? What if that was a mixed menu, Would you still go?

She didn't like the sound of that...

What I am saying is that we have cultures around the world that are special, and we need to preserve them.

That is not racist in my mind; that is an appreciation of culture.

What did this post have to do with what we were talking about? I don't know
That's what you get when I write a long post this time of year.

... this portrays is a rather shallow understanding of culture, architecture, and cuisine, coupled with a deep misunderstanding of their connection to race.

Thats laughable Gethelred. I could counter and say your response is shallow.

Do you need me to write 10 pages on every aspect of culture? That's not going to happen BTW.

I focused on some core points, which for most people living on this planet, are easy to understand.

If you would like to add something constructive, I will read it.

PS.... I was sent here to alter your thinking process.

If someone mistreated you, refused to apologise, and suggested the problem is with you for failing to move forward, you'd suggest that's a good social interaction?

There were multiple apologies made over the years, BY people who were not involved.
Its you who feel guilty and feel the need to apologise over and over.
We need to move forward for a united country.

... so, let me get this straight.

You tell a story demonstrating a vapid understanding of the interconnected ties between culture, architecture, food and race, and your response to being told that your understanding is vapid you choose to what, play an Uno reverse card?

Forgive me, but this is dumb. Ceaseless responding until the person you're talking with goes away because you're pointless to talk with does not mean you were correct; what it means is that you're toxic as ****.

Cue you replying, 'No, it is YOU who is toxic as ****!'

Yeah, because you don't understand it.
I focused on some core points, which for most people living on this planet, are easy to understand.
You focused on cosmetic trappings, and pretended they were the entirety of what culture is.
If you would like to add something constructive, I will read it.
This is mumbo jumbo.

PS, if you reeeeeeeaaaaally want to try trolling me, it won't end in a way you'll enjoy.

So a country like France, should protect itself from non French influence. Make sure that its Italian language, middle eastern religion, Indian number system, architectural influences and food full of ingredients from all over the world remains totally French.

Culture has never been static.

did not expect that reaction. fine...I wont reply to your posts, and dont reply to mine.

You are correct, which was supposed to be the next part of my post.

Anyway, people are getting their feathers ruffled and its not worth it.

I was just trying to make a point about how people perceive culture, and they do in many different ways.
And how culture is treasured by those people, which is a fact, but obviousy not a fact here.
