The pink ball was introduced because players had trouble picking up a red or a white ball in the changing light.
The pink ball was introduced to replace red ball cricket ie for 4 and 5 day games and let these games be played at night time.

They tried orange and yellow balls. Darren Lehmann the other day was talking about a double century he hit in a day-night shield game using a yellow ball.

The pink ball was never introduced to replace the white ball for one day games.

Weather forecast for the 1st day is anywhere between 35c - 38c with the hot condition's to follow each day

Please let us win the toss and bat...and bat...and bat
"Australia currently struggling early on day 3 at 3 for 812." :)

Draw or a win to the aussies & it's two dead rubbers to follow. They need to win to save the summer or yay it's dead rubbers & BBL.
I lost my rabid love of the Australian Cricket team probably in the mid 2000s. Just a bunch of arogant ********s. Like Test cricket a lot, my most rabid was when we used to get destroyed by Windies in the 80s. What a side. Loved Alan Border because he stood up to them. Now, meh, apart from destroying those Indian campaigners, Im just up for the game.

I think I've lost any rabid love of state & national teams just in general to be honest. I still like the battle & individual players, but there's nothing tribal about it.

T20 has killed a lot of my love for the game. Batsmen just don't know how to build an innings - someone making a 300 ball century would be about as rare as a Collingwood fan with a full set of teeth.

Am i alone in wanting the Poms to dig in and make a game of it?
I've been wanting the poms to do this since about 10am on the 21st November Perth time. I want to see a real battle.

This bullshit that the ashes are pinnacle of test cricket makes no sense when the poms lose test series in Oz 4-0 or 5-0.

The pinnacle was when the West indies dominated and sides tried to beat them and a drawn series was the product of a great battle be it West Indies v Oz, India, Pakistan, even England drew a 5 test series in England 2-2 in 1991.

Yeah we've had 6 days of a possible 10 so far - I still want the Aussies to win, but an Adelaide 2006 style win late on day 5 would be more memorable.
