Albo: "we won't let them divide us"

He is trying to be Trump but without the charisma

sir you and your party has been dividing Australia for the last 15 years through identity politics and the amplification and cultivation of reckless rhetoric to further a delulu political movement

time to do better and watch the language that one puts out!
So it's the way he's saying it that is the problem.

I would suggest that this attack is not Pro-anything. It's only about destruction.
Wtf GIF by MOODMAN

Gunman was shot. First person to approach the scene is a civilian. Confirm the shootee is injured. Takes his gun away from him. Puts his hands up to draw attention - gets shot at by police. Eventually police get there. Gets tackled to the ground and detained as if he is the shooter. Gets attacked by another civilian who assumes he is the shooter because police are trying to detain him.

Pretty piss poor response.

I just watched the full video.

What a shit show that was once both got shot, that's embarrassing from the police.

Police turn up and there's 4-5 of them running around like headless chooks.

An unarmed fruiterer didnt worry about that
He also had some advantage in that he came from behind the shooter who wasn't aware he was coming at him, nonetheless a very very brave man to do what he did given the other shooter would have had a clear shot at him from their elevated point of advantage.

They are human, with the same instincts of preservation that you have. Their pistols are highly inaccurate at anything further than very close range, and they are up against two gunmen with 4 x long arms capable of killing them at much greater distance.

Sure, they could have dumped their clips from 50+ meters away and then had no ammo to neutralize them when the opportunity came.
Had the police stormed the bridge with their pistols until within 10-15 meters, there would be police dead....not that i think that would bother the likes of you.
Some much needed sense on the subject.

It's all too predictable that reactionary politicians are falling over themselves to blame the Australian Government for the terrorist actions of a father and son.

This tragedy is far greater than any other tragedy since Port Arthur to have occurred in Australia. There has never been a terrorist attack this bad in Australia. The only comparable ones involving Australians are Christchurch and the Bali Bombings.

I think it's the lack of comparability which sees things spiralling off in all directions at the moment.
I think the problem is so many people have been predicting that something like this would happen. There has been an air of inevitability about this and now here we are

Way too easy to become a cop these days. But they are desperate for numbers I guess. In saying that, not an easy situation to navigate.

The benefit of living in Australia, is that we don't have this sort of mass shooting... and thus our police aren't on high alert for it, and probably aren't trained to the required level of response... they aren't trained, nor do they have experts with experience in the matter, to react in the way Police in say America are. Its almost muscle memory over there.

Agree, but they should at least give the perception that they know what they are doing.

Or trying to engage, with a pistol, against two better-armed and with the advantage of cover and height, terrorists tossing also tossing pipe bombs. There's no sense, if you're the first police on scene, charging gallantly into death.
In one of the videos you could see an office working his way to their position and trying to flank them.

They were probably just patrol cops who have been given the basic training. Not SOG who trading day I. Say out for every situation.

It was chaotic they have people shooting at them, the think they got them, then all of a sudden there another in black shirt guy where the gun men were. So they pop a round at him, he ends up being a civilian.. by the time they get there, there are 3-4 civilians screaming and carrying on and pointing.

Josh Frydenberg spoke with emotion and calm on 3aw. Called for both sides of politics to come together to investigate how this happened, and to work together.

oh i see he also pointed the finger at the PM in another statement. anyway, still thought he was well spoken with shanne mcginnus.

Rightly so. The PM should resign. But he won’t because he does not believe in accountability

I have fired handguns from 10M and hit the bullseye.

I knew there'd be people not wanting to admit this was anti-Semitic, it's not a hard conclusion to draw.

voices are getting louder now, decrying the events and lead up to this. A prominent Jewish leader was on 3AW stating just this, for too long have leaders done nothing about anti semetic attacks and protests involving the neo nazis.
