Wtf are you talking about? It’s about the victims (and given he was shot, he’s one of them). What misinformation have you seen on the ABC?
You bought up misinformation. You tell me what misinformation is out there. It was a terrorist attack and the hero is a Lebanese Christian who owns a fruit shop in Sunderland. There's one

You are currently spreading misinformation by calling him a Lebanese Christian, especially bizarre given he has a very traditionally Arabic Muslim name

Ahmed al Ahmed (super hero, no matter what his background is). Differing reports:

  • a fruit shop owner and father of two, remains in hospital
  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likewise praised Ahmed’s act, but labeled him as Jewish
  • Some reports say he is Lebanese, some say he is Syrian
  • Some reports say he is Muslim others report he is Christian.
Whoever he is - a true brave hero

I would have thought that if there was one lesson that comes out of all this tragedy, whether it be Bondi, Gaza, October 7, Ukraine, Sudan, Congo or anywhere else in the world right now, it's that we should consider people based on their actions and how they treat others, not their identity, ethnicity or faith. These factors may influence the choices people make, but none of us have a monopoly on good behaviour, nor should we think ill of others simply because of where they are from, or what they worship or don't worship.

I was supposed to be at Bondi with my family this weekend but we had to change plans. I feel sick.

As the stoics said, we cannot control the actions of others, we can only control our response. All we can choose now is how we respond as a nation, as communities and as people.

I hope you're all doing ok and keeping safe. Floreat Pica.

Have a look at what's happening in Nigeria. Boca Haram has been going into churches and slaughtered, women and children. 60,000 Christians slaughtered this year already. ****en oath it makes a difference who they are. Where's the outrage there?. There's a common theme it's been happening for years.

He's a Lebanese Christian. Keep listening to the ABC. You started with misinformation as a crux of your post. You can't see past your biases. It was another anti Semitic attack. Typical woke media trying to water it down by saying he's a Muslim. It's propaganda. You support what you want but don't tell me shit you have no idea about.

You’ve gone off the deep end, Jesus Christ. Peddling propaganda in your weird war on “woke”, whilst decrying other propaganda? Get off the internet for a while

What’s the common theme between what you pointed out and the endless slaughter of Gazans and Ukrainians? Care to elaborate?

Manic I suggest you step outside for a bit, shut off the news and get some fresh air. Try to disconnect. You're no more informed than anyone else on this tragedy and your tone is concerningly paranoid.

I can see you're angry Manic, and I understand.

My point is not aimed at whether the identity of victims is related to their murder, persecution or oppression. Of course it is, in many instances. And it's horrendous. What I'm saying is that I refuse to go down the path of hatred myself and I hope that the solutions we come up with as a nation are based on our shared principles. I won't try to tell you how to feel.

I hope you're ok, friend.

Hummus dip is pretty good..
I prefer peas with mashed potato and gravy.
😎
I make my mash with garlic salt, cracked pepper and shit loads of butter. It’s that fluffy you’d think it’s icecream. I get pissed off if I have to share any with the family. The kids just put sauce on it to destroy my soul

Agree with the loads of butter, I also use hot milk in my mash. Keep the garlic for roasted garlic spuds.

Only a dash of garlic salt. Although I go through phases where I make some with normal salt and act like I’ve discovered something previously unknown to man.

I like lots of white pepper when adding the butter and some maldon salt.
If you have any leftover grated parmesan that's ok to throw in the mix at times with some chives.
