Right wing ideology often works by exclusions, that the world must revolve around IN groups and OUT groups. Lefties are by their ideological nature collective inclusionists.

Religious fundamentalists are by their very nature right wing. You are either a believer exactly as they are or you are damned. Or an infidel.

Both Left and Right can skew into authoritarianism at the extremes but they take different roads to get there.

Israel have some blame in this, what they've done in Gaza has contributed to the hatred Jewish people have gotten. These people in Sydney that were attacked have nothing to with what Israel have done and their only tie to it is they're religion/ethnicity and these evil people that did this yesterday are so radicalized in their beliefs they're too stupid to realize this. Religion is a stain on society and I hate the term Islamaphobia. Phobia is an irrational fear. Is it irrational to have a fear of dying? There are average people in all religions that aren't extremists and I'm not afraid of people in general. I'm afraid of how far some take their beliefs as if any of the bullshit books are true.

I’ve provided justification. The right like to sound the alarm about Islamic extremism and Islam more broadly. The left would rather promote Islam, downplay the threat, or at the very least insist on tolerance. You can’t just pretend that the topic of Islam hasn’t bifurcated along these political lines.

I know the Christchurch shooter is right wing without knowing how he feels about public healthcare, collectivism, unions, and so on. People are just getting their back up because they are uncomfortable having “the left” associated with something bad.
