Eagles had a 3tr time total score of 11.13 in 1992, their total score at the end of the game in 2018.

Not quite the same but kinda a coincidence being in a winning grand final.

2013
  • Snake Year
  • Sun player (Gary Ablett Jr) wins the Brownlow
  • New Pope
  • Geelong v Hawthorn Prelim
  • Hawthorn won the flag, the first of a 3-peat

2025
  • Snake Year
  • Sun player (Matt Rowell) wins the Brownlow
  • New Pope
  • Geelong v Hawthorn Prelim
  • Brisbane won flag, going back-to-back

Each time there is a season ending in a 6 since 1990, an oddity happens

1996
  • Fitzroy merged with the Bears
  • Gold Cup awarded
  • Centenary season

2006
  • Sirengate
  • Last season in which Channel 9 televised footy
  • Premiership decided by one point

2016
  • Essendon forced to field a makeshift side
  • Bulldogs won flag from 7th in a fairytale season
  • Threepeat Hawthorn out in straight sets

2026
- No centre bounce at the start of quarters

Every year there is some sort of oddity happening.

Luckily we can only get 10 posts from you regarding this.

1 down, 9 to go.

You’re an oddity.

Interesting that in the 1994 drawn final between North 3rd vs hawks 6th one team didn't score in extra time and lost by 23 points. North won.

Then in the next drawn final in 2007 West Coast 3rd vs Collingwood 6th also didn't score in extra time and lost by 23 points. 3.5 to nothing in extra time like in 1994. This time 6th would prevail though.

I blame ****n George Lucas for the Colliwobbles based on this. No more Star Wars movies. We have enough trouble without Darth Vader taking the piss out of us

You should hope for no more associated songs as well.

Add to 1980 & 2002 the first 1977 Star Wars movie and the song reaching number 1 on grand final replay day!

From wiki
Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band" is a song recorded by Meco, taken from the album Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk. It hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on October 1, 1977, holding on to the spot for two weeks and peaked at no. 7 on the UK Singles Chart, remaining in the charts for nine weeks.

**** sake. No more nerd music either

Each team that defeated Geelong in a grand final this century missed the finals the following year

2008: Haw def Geel in GF 2009: Haw missed finals (9th)
2020: Rich def Geel in GF 2021: Rich missed finals (12th

Both were Year of the Rat grand finals and they missed finals completely in the Year of the Ox

I'm a sucker for a good sporting montage set to generic hard rock. I was watching an old episode of All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling when this awesome spot came on. The music seemed really familiar. And then it struck me..

2009: Rafael Nadal defeated Fernando Verdasco in an epic semi in 5hr and 14min on Friday, January 30 and then wins his first Australian Open title by defeating Roger Federer in the final on Sunday, February Geelong won the premiership that year, vs St Kilda, on September 26

2026: Carlos Alcaraz defeated Alexander Zverev in an epic semi in 5hr and 27min on Friday, January 30 and then wins his first Australian Open title by defeating Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday, February 1

And?
Where is the footy coincidence?

Oh you are trying to predict a coincidence that has not happened with Geelong winning this years Premiership?

Oh we can fill thousand of pages with these predictions.

How about 1966 St.Kilda won their 1st Premiership.

In 2026 …. won their first Premiership.

Amazing if it happens huh?
