If you go to NZ you must go to Napier. The city was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 so they rebuilt in what they saw as the most modern architectural form at the time which was Art Deco.
Mrs Dore and I were there for the Art Deco Festival in 2024.

Like a mates place that was totally normal on the outside and full of Indiana Jones murals on the inside.
I also considered buying this place with it's scarface mural thing, but if you look at pictures someone else got it, attempted to renovate it to be boring and plain, and then gave up and put it back on the market.
