Key word being “should” be ready. And what if they’re not?
41.10.2 Should either batter waste time by failing to meet this requirement, or in any other way, the following procedure shall be adopted. At the first instance, either before the bowler starts his/her run-up or when the ball becomes dead, as appropriate, the umpire shall
  • warn both batters and indicate that this is a first and final warning. This warning shall apply throughout the innings. The umpire shall so inform each incoming batter.
  • inform the other umpire of what has occurred.
  • inform the captain of the fielding side and, as soon as practicable, the captain of the batting side of what has occurred.

41.10.3 If there is any further time wasting by any batter in that innings, the umpire shall, at the appropriate time while the ball is dead
  • award 5 Penalty runs to the fielding side.
  • inform the other umpire of the reason

They should start building a stadium with a roof in Sydney instead of Hobart, they need a stadium with a roof more in Summer.
Only 1200MM of rain - not really needed. Anyway if there is a roofed stadium in Sydney that is built then V'Landys will ensure it is built at a Colesseum like Shark Park

Sydney test being delayed due to rain……

☔

Give this test to someone else so we can see some cricket. Absolutely crap and it happens every year. If not rain bad light will ensure no last session is ever played. 🫣🤮
Boxing Day at the G. New Year Test at Marvel. Weather issues sorted

Rain Delay chat: would a roof basically eliminate all weather effects? Like, obviously it's going to eliminate rain being a factor, but would it also negate dew/moisture in the air that can lead to swing bowling near rainy periods? May be a dumb as dogshit question but just wondering if the air would be less damp inside compared to outside.

Not to mention that the sun baking the pitch is basically non-existent. Would be an interesting change of pace in groundskeeping with Tests.

Our only good spinner is injured though. Murphy’s style won’t suit Aus pitches
Couldn't be any worse than Green's bowling. Would probably make more runs as well

The chance of a roof on the SCG is zero while the trust holds all the power. Yes the old stands look nice but there comes a time when we need to move on. Once the new Brisbane Stadium is finished it will be the oldest/least attended Test venue in Australia. At least a roof would give more play but I doubt it would happen at the SCG

Would be like mum saying you can’t play cricket in the lounge. Out the backyard .☺️

Of course it would never happen at the SCG but I was more just thinking about a hypothetical indoor test match pitch. Which, if the Hobart stuff happens, will happen. Though that's still planned to be a see-through roof compared to the potential of a Marvel-esque stadium Test pitch.
