This is the way the privileged and powerful have always operated in this country - using the media to get and keep the things they want. And weaponising grief and tragedy as a political platform shows there's never a bridge too far.
I think it's a good lesson for all of us that the claims of the death of legacy media were greatly exaggerated. The media barons have simply found that social media can be manipulated just as easy as the traditional press.
The complicity of the publicly owned ABC in not challenging any of this and asking the tough and obvious questions about who is behind this coordinated campaign and why should set alarms bells ringing.
