Anyone got access to this?
He was probably told he would have to ride for Vingegaard rather than defend his Giro title
I saw a discussion on another forum, I haven't seen it myself, but his brother was on a podcast and apparently said he thinks he's brother should retire on top, obviously looking at Simon's statement, it sounds like retirement may have been on his mind for a while.Goes to the route reveal, says he still doesn't know if he's gonna be defending it. Next minute retired. I'd like odds on a comeback next year.
Kuss probably more suited than Jorgenson as GC leader in La Vuelta if both go.On the Yates (and obviously now Jorgenson) discussion, it does present an interesting option for La Vuelta for V-LAB's GC. Will Jorgenson be there as the GC candidate? If he's needed to do a lot of domestique work for Jonas at the Tour then he may not be a viable candidate. Doe he get the gig? Does Ben Tullett (probably a bit early and I don't see him being a top 5 prospect) or do we finally see GC Wout?
Kuss is not a viable GC candidate over Jorgenson. That Vuelta he won was basically because Visma told the two best riders in the race not to fight him for GC.Kuss probably more suited than Jorgenson as GC leader in La Vuelta if both go.
Jorgenson's goal should be trying to win a stage win at the TdF but not sure if he can do it with the way Visma race.
Kuss has done three Grand Tours in a year before & doesn't race much outside of these types of races so I believe he can do it.
Even if he was gifted the win 2023 Vuelta only Roglic & Vingegaard beat him potentially? not sure that's a knock on Kuss.Kuss is not a viable GC candidate over Jorgenson. That Vuelta he won was basically because Visma told the two best riders in the race not to fight him for GC.
Jorgensen has out pointed him pretty much every other race they've done together. And has much stronger GC palmares as leader.Even if he was gifted the win 2023 Vuelta only Roglic & Vingegaard beat him potentially? not sure that's a knock on Kuss.
He still beat everyone else in that race comfortably.
Although probably both aren't top tier as GC riders. Kuss seems better to me than Jorgenson at the steep climbs that the Vuelta usually brings as shown in last year last year's TdF where Jorgenson was getting dropped early on climbs. and this was well before he was let off the leash to go up the road.
And also outperformed him in 2025 at Vuelta.
I think Visma will give Kuss GC leadership at the Vuelta over Jorgenson honestly.
time will tell let's see who is right.
Jorgenson has no stage wins in Grand Tours, Sepp Kuss has 2x individual stage wins at Vuelta & 1x at the Tour.Jorgensen has out pointed him pretty much every other race they've done together. And has much stronger GC palmares as leader.
Kuss has one WT stage race win, and 5 other top 10's in WT stage races, the next highest being a 5th in UAE tour. Not bad, but Jorgenson has 2x Paris-Nice wins, as well as 2nd on GC in Romandie and Dauphine (Dauphine behind arguably the best one week racer ever in Primoz Roglic) and 5 other top 10's in his career.Jorgenson has no stage wins in Grand Tours, Sepp Kuss has 2x individual stage wins at Vuelta & 1x at the Tour.
You are very unlikely to win a Grand Tour if you can't at least win 1 stage.
Sepp Kuss has won more than double the number of races Jorgenson has.

I haven't checked but if it isn't on Stay live it'll be on TizDoes anyone know where to watch the UAE Tour later this month?
The startlist with Vingegaard, Del Toro & Evenepoel is a good early season marker.
