Let’s be honest — I’m not exactly featured on Earl’s or Winy’s Christmas card list. That said, credit where it’s due: those deck photos were not taken in summer.

By all means, poke holes in the MFC/FC/FGM fairy tales — they’ve earned it — but once you start pushing the “summertime” theory, you lose credibility. Even our learned friends would agree: a summer scenario requires believing the Spider-Man suit sat neatly out of sight for months. That’s not connecting dots; that’s putting the horse several paddocks ahead of the cart.

That said, the deck photos are still not what they appear to be. Remember, the so-called “hero roar” image was aggressively airbrushed for PR purposes — reality, meet Photoshop.

Which brings us to the real $1 million question: what exactly is the chain of custody of those images from September 12 onwards, while they were sitting on the camera? Because that’s where the story actually gets interesting.

I would like to ask the question of anyone who has read this book. Perhaps Stormbird can answer. I found this article authored by one of the few journalists that can hold her head up high. Candace Sutton.

I have never read the Chumley book. In this article it references the Miller house next door as a place that FA may of used as lookout.

I have been told that none of this is in the Chumley book. Does anyone know whether it was there and was subsequently removed.

It seems a very convoluted story to be made up by Candace Sutton.

If there is an element of truth to the story; “Did FA actually see what happened.”

This is where an undoctored picture helps. How is light hitting the top of his cheek under his right eye if the light's coming from behind his head? I'll add that light's hitting his whole face, it's just that there's more hitting the top of that cheek than below it.

So is it direct bright sunlight. Or are the "monkeys" correct and it was overcast?

The usual cause of a catchlight is sun reflecting off a bright white cloud.

They don’t occur on overcast days.

One thing I don’t understand is the photos seems to show a different set up in the house compared to in FGM’s walkthrough. Has the furniture been moved around and plants placed on the window sill?
Seems to be a bit of rearranging/decorating and yet the beds weren’t made.

If the story is accurate, (not saying it or is not), then FA was there at the crucial time.
But Police have dismissed it, so I guess he was able to satisfy them. Wasn't he in Wauchope cashing his pension?

It's nothing like the catchlight in William's eyes, which you can only just see. You should all give it a try if you have doubts, it only takes a minute.



Yes I have beautiful eyes and yes it's bloodshot through lack of sleep. What's also interesting is that even though the sun isn't shining on me is you can see the me clearly because of reflected light. Now let's all wait for Leon to tell me not to make it all about myself.

No. parts of his face are in shadow. Flashlights eliminate shadows.

Earl says it is sunny and not overcast.

You say it is overcast and the sun is filtered through the clouds, and that explains no sharp shadows. I don't know if Earl thinks you are monkey or not.

the photo you take you take is on a bright sunny day under the car port. The catch light in the right upper quadrant has a straight horizontal upper edge. It is rectangular shaped. I think it is showing the sunlight edge under the roof of the car port. Light travels in straight lines.
it does not magically make shapes. I think we agree you have demonstrated this.

There can be catch light even if inside and light is coming through a glass window.

The shape of the catch light in Williams eyes has a sharp shape. It is bright. Sort of a chevron. It is not the general filtered light. I have wondered about this for some time. It is in the left upper quadrant. it is not horizontal line from the roof of the deck.
Is it the camera flash? I doubt this.

Photographers use a diffuser to diffuse the light from a light source if they wish to avoid sharp lines or catch lights.
