ACLs suck. Footy would be so much better if evolution was kinder on our knees.

Hey so I edited parts of the GWS doco that’s airing after the state of injury.
Particularly ep 2 where Cal Ward’s career ending injury occurs.
If you happen to watch it lemme know what you think! It’s pretty groundbreaking in terms of team access. I couldn’t believe some of the stuff they were allowed to film.
Possibly, but some might be more historical pieces and not following a current season. This one is very much a push by the AFL to heighten the giants brand. It’ll probably work! The trailers looked really interesting.
Pretty keen to give it a look.
I'm hopeful we start getting most clubs releasing this type of thing.
should've done more to get him

Let’s not overdo it. One off game during February when no one really gives a shit is enough please.Once Tassie come in you could look at a 19 game H/A season and 3-4 week SoO tournament each season.
Now the origin seems to have worked well what next?
Clearly SA needs to be involved.
So does the game rotate between WA and SA with the Vics playing SA next in Adelaide and WA in Perth the year after. The trade-off for the Vics playing every year is it is an away fixture.
Would there be an appetite for an Allies side?
Could we actually go like the under 18 champs and have Vic Metro and Vic Country?
What do we do as far as NSW and QLD go and Tasmania?
I doubt that happens. WA v SA will be a boom in those states but will not rate in Victoria. My guess is a king of the Hill winner stays on Format.
Ie
2027 Vic vs SA
2028 winner Vic/SA vs WA
if more teams enter you just have to wait longer for your turn
I am intrigued to see what they try and turn it in to, but i just can't work out what it will be.
NRL SoO works because there's only 2 teams and there will only ever be 2 teams. They can play a 'best of series' and you get a winner every time. The fans care because the animosity builds year on year.
You can't recreate that in the AFL. 3 states that need to play now, 3 more that would want to be included sooner rather than later.
Is it meant to be a tournament with a winner? Or a one off game each year where someone misses out?
Is WA/SA a big enough rivalry, or does Vic need to be involved every time as the 'common enemy'? Having Metro/Country for Vic kind of defeats the whole 'State' bit, but it might be needed if you need teams for a comp.
Comp seems like it'd be the better choice than a one off as States (presumably) want to be involved and everyone likes seeing a winner, but teams need at least a week between games and it can't impact the actual season
Once Tassie come in you could look at a 19 game H/A season and 3-4 week SoO tournament each season. Less games overall which makes it very unlikely from the Leagues POV but it does balance the fixture and gives you a dedicated tournament.
Another option is make it like the Olympics/World Cup and embed it into the fixture every few years (doesn't have to be 4). 2 divisions for some seeding games, 2 semi finals and then the grand final and a small final which assists with division alignment for the next one. League shuts down for a month, you play 4 weeks of Origin in the one
I doubt that happens. WA v SA will be a boom in those states but will not rate in Victoria.
So Essendon vs ??personally i think they should next do SOO with all the dud players ala matt guelfi and their ilk, have that comparison!
west coast, but we swap vic/wa players around in the teamSo Essendon vs ??

Trying to think of last time a club had 3 co captains. Was it the swans when they ran with three man combos of leo barry, barry hall, brett kirk, craig bolton and adam goodes in the 00s?
