Geelong's Recent Record Vs West Coast

don't make me get out the dvd and review it!! I'd rather spend my money on 2007 games. :) we got killed just when we were about to put them away....

Yeah I do agree with you. There were some bad calls. Just can't remember the details of the others. The deliberate out of bounds certainly stuck out though.

put it this way: they were equally as bad as some of those calls in the collingwood prelim (did you agree with the rocca free? Harley must be the first player in the history of the game to be penalised for running back with the flight of the ball)

Initially I thought it should've been 'play on' but hey. It meant we won by less than a kick which made it even sweeter.

You guys just won a premiership and your talking about a game that you lost to West Coast last year. Get over it.

And no one knows if a fully fit Eagles side would have beaten Geelong or not so there is really no point arguing about it.

some eagles and other fans (mainly Hawthorn supporters - what is their unhealthy obsession with us?? just because the great man walked out on their club 25 years ago and came to the cats you'd think they would have gotten over it by now) have been saying Cats don't truly deserve the premiership because a fit eagles side would have beaten them

I am just pointing out cats 2-1 record over fit eagles sides over past 3 matches (and it is 2-2 over the past 4 matches, and 3-2 over past 5)

So cats fans, if anybody says to you "Oh, well a fit Eagles side...." you don't have to take that rubbish lying down

We would have won... There, no argument:)

a 50 odd point come back off the umps ? come on we were shocking that day, one of the worst games ive seen us in.

We were shocking that day that was true. We had to move the Big Hairy Cat to CHB as the Tomcat (I think it was, I have tried really hard to erase memories of this match LOL) went down and Cam was braining them up front. Something else that is true is that West Coast got SEVEN goals from free kicks that day.

regards,

REB

We usually match-up well against them. I would have been very confident even if they were fully fit.

However, I think you have picked some odd examples, OldStyle.

As good as I think the Eagles are at full strength I think geelong were an outstanding side this season, it was a performance for the ages in the GF and full credit must be given to them.
The real answer is that the Eagles at their best would have put up a better show than Port did but we were not good enough to get their.
Based on what i witnessed on GF day the rest of the comp putting together a combined side may not have match Geelong on that day. They were awsome.

(a) We deserved to beat you in 2006.

(b) Had we got over Port and then in turn the Kangas, you would have smoked us in the 2007 GF. If Cousins and Hansen hadn't gone down in that game (vs Pies for Hansen), and Kerr came back in, I still think you would have won.

(c) I hope we play each other twice in 2008. A pumped up MCG game between the 06 and 07 premiers would be great, as would a home game for us at Subiaco.

I seriously doubt any team would've come close to Geelong on Grand Final day this year. Fully fit or not.

Would WC have had the forwards to get on top of Scarlett, Harley, Hunt and Milburn who were all terrific.
Would they have had the backs to stop Mooney, Johnson, Chapman and NAblett kicking 16 goals between them.
I don't think they could've contained an inform midfield boasting names like Bartel, Ablett, Wojak, Rooke, Ling, Selwood, Kelly and Corey either.

Too many guns. They should all get over it.

Cats' season. End Of Story.
