It has recently come to my attention, courtesy of discussions with Mobbs, that the medical infrastructure in Sweet is, to put it mildly, woefully inadequate. At present, the entire healthcare “system” of the league appears to consist of the following:- One hospital, which currently does not even have an owner
- A training centre exclusively for Half-Back Flankers
- A Dental Office- and not even a full dental clinic at that
There is an alarming gap in our community’s healthcare coverage- primary care. Meanwhile, that other league has made tangible progress in recognising and managing concussion protocols, injury rehabilitation, and overall player welfare. They have invested in evidence-based, multidisciplinary models. They are clearly reaping the benefits and putting Sweet to shame.
Therefore, it is finally time for Sweet to join the modern era and establish a proper community health service. Introducing Sweet Medical Outpatients - the league’s first dedicated primary care facility. Players, coaches, support staff, and fans are all welcome.
