It has recently come to my attention, courtesy of discussions with Mobbs, that the medical infrastructure in Sweet is, to put it mildly, woefully inadequate. At present, the entire healthcare “system” of the league appears to consist of the following:
  • One hospital, which currently does not even have an owner
  • A training centre exclusively for Half-Back Flankers
  • A Dental Office- and not even a full dental clinic at that
The only legitimate medical facility in Sweet provides inpatient services only, and is currently overflowing with patients. Without leadership, structure, or funding, the situation has become dire. In fact, it would appear that no one is ever discharged, at least not officially. Ruor has it that several players are currently taking the field each week under the guise of “day leave.” This misguided commitment has had the unfortunate side effect of exacerbating existing conditions, prolonging recovery times, and impacting long-term prognoses.

There is an alarming gap in our community’s healthcare coverage- primary care. Meanwhile, that other league has made tangible progress in recognising and managing concussion protocols, injury rehabilitation, and overall player welfare. They have invested in evidence-based, multidisciplinary models. They are clearly reaping the benefits and putting Sweet to shame.

Therefore, it is finally time for Sweet to join the modern era and establish a proper community health service. Introducing Sweet Medical Outpatients - the league’s first dedicated primary care facility. Players, coaches, support staff, and fans are all welcome.

Background New
Private funding for this outpatient medical service was secured only after a public commercial application was lodged and, predictably, rejected. The subsequent business case for private backing drew upon the finest legal and accounting minds Sweet could assemble.

The case itself was compelling. Records show that the commentary contains repeated references to heavy collisions, dangerous tackles, and players visibly struggling after contact. It features players being “crunched,” “smashed,” “poleaxed,” “laid out flat,” and left “wobbly in the hands of the trainers.” There are even calls to “send for an ambulance” and “call a dentist,” without evidence that any existing service has been able to meet these demands.

Moreover there are specific references to high contact, reportable tackles, trips, ankle taps, dangerous kicks, and assorted slapstick mishaps involving shins, knees, fingers, and faces. Of course this is only the tip of the iceberg as it does not begin to account for the illnesses and injuries sustained during the week, away from the match-day spotlight. Nonetheless, the volume of these incidents alone was sufficient to justify a formal case to Accounts for the establishment of a primary care service.

Where do I sign up for more Viagra... um I mean performance enhancing supplements?
We are a holistic service but we also stick to the rules of the competition
What about a vet clinic?
I love animals, and a quick glance at the Pets of the SFA thread shows there is clearly demand. I would be happy to help fundraise with you to make this happen, as it is yet another area of need. However, I firmly believe that parents and owners can only properly look after their dependents and companions if they themselves are looked after first.

Isn't there a separate thread for the Minecraft stuff?
This isn’t related to Minecraft. I’ve never played it and know nothing about it. On the other hand, medicine is an interest and I went as far as asking Mobbs for a list of the injury-related sim terms a few days ago.

I was wondering why we don't have towel racks in the changerooms 😳
I cannot speak for other clubs but at the Bears I blame Test Tickle

Does my owner need pet health insurance?
Insurance is always advisable when public services are lacking. We do accept self-funded patients who aren’t insured though.

Your posts are underrated. Loving your work MWPP.

I always thought you were an orphan.
And that you were currently jointly owned by the BF SFA mods.

How about I own you and you own me for a while?
That would make more cents.
And then we could set up a BPug self insurance fund, and all would be sweet.

Don't you remembed the last time there were racks at the Colosseum, and I invited you over for a toga party dinner.
The racks didn't last long.

I might need some treatment for some aches and pains.

You seem to be carrying excess weight but I am not one to talk.

Just a wee bit.

Think the doc can help us both?

I think so. A shot should do it in my case.
You’re in the right place! We’ve got loads of experience managing pain and weight with a holistic approach. We can certainly prescribe medications like Qorphine and Qozempic. More importantly, we will follow you up and closely monitor you to prevent any complications like chronic pain, addiction, or disordered eating down the road.
