O'Meara is actually injured right now. Should be back next week or two. Banfield I think will only be playing as a last resort if no one else is available.

We have so much depth in that half forward position that we could easily rotate a few different players through there every week.

I will say though, that it is good news for Murphy Reid. Young out and Scerri in. Probably expect Reid to play mostly midfield.

Pretty happy with my R1 side which is a first I must say. Could've gone 2237 if I'd had Grlj/Jaques on field.

Biggest issue for me is Gulden and who I replace him with. My heart wants the Bont but I know trading into his bye would be silly. With best 18 I could almost afford to hold Gulden for 2 weeks and bring Bont in off the bye, but that also seems silly.

Probably makes more sense to bring in Zerrett or Serong (although I'm wary of Freo's lack of scoring as has been mentioned in here)

Dawson is probably the other option there.

As for my second trade, potentially looking at dropping Parish or Steele but it's too early to be doing sideways trades for premos really. Probably will offload Blakiston for Murdock to get the cash gen going. Or... do I go super aggressive and get Parish out early for Stephens? Much to ponder.

Golden replacement is an issue. No reliable options without a bye.

Is it just a straight swap for Bont and cop the same bye that was planned with Errol? Waste of a trade and feels dirty trading into a bye when there’s an opportunity to trade out of one.

Prepared to give Windsor a Blakiston a week or two given neither have byes.

Currently on the Gulden to Merrett train but the unfortunate news of Hayden Young and more contract negotiations with Essendon has tended to sway me towards Serong and backing him to increase his numbers from last year - enough to be a top 10 midfielder.

Talk me out of it.

I'm going for it. Had a brief look today at bringing in Cook and banking 800k, but I just can't do it. Already have Walsh, Naicos, Bruhn, Houston out these week, can't have another 800k in the bank, and Serong at least has a good matchup over the early byes.

Projecting to next week, I still have 250k in the bank, so will be able to get an upgrade using one or two of the Melbourne midpricers if both don't pop this week, and otherwise will have the ability to grab a mid pricer from a rookie. 800k would give me a guaranteed ability to put one of those two Melbourne mid pricers into a premium, but I think I will still have that option next week regardless, as well as Serong.

Was thinking I'd keep Blakiston for one more round against Visentini but now Sweet has been officially named to take over ruck duties for Port. Tougher match-up you'd think than Visentini? With even tougher direct opponents opponents to come in next few weeks.

Blakiston's breakeven is 32. But if you are capable of trading him this week I think you should. Even if he goes well this week he is only going to be the Essendon ruckman for a few more weeks until Bryan is back in.

Yep, sounds about right to me. Was about 50/50 on it before the Sweet news but 90/10 now.

Edit: Although, that's a low BE. Make it 70/30 haha. Decisions.

I haven't got Roberts but from what I read and saw about his role I'd be trading him before the other two and banking the cash. Edit: And similarly, I'm now thinking of trading Clark out before those two for same reasons.

Who’s the set and forget? English and Jackson?

Question marks over Jackson’s role and scoring with Cox and Darcy around. Had a great start but was still a risk.

Every other top end ruck has been less than convincing.

With Vlaustin back, is Grlj a must have? I know he has high DE and had a lot of short kick/marks last week. Gold Coast would also be a much tougher matchup.
