Breaking: Scott Pendlebury diagnosed with leather poisoning. Will be right to play…for another 5 years.

GEELONG believes Mark Blicavs will push for selection against North Melbourne on Saturday despite a hyperextension to his knee in the worrying loss to Port Adelaide.

The club said he had a hyperextended lateral ligament in his knee and while he returned to warm up on an exercise bike hedid not return to the field.

The club is still working through the next steps with Gryan Miers, who has a partially torn ACL.

His manager Liam Pickering confirmed on Sunday that while he had ACL damage he had absolutely no swelling in his knee.

So Geelong will have to decide whether he needs surgery or risk him playing, aware he might eventually need an operation which could put him out for up to 12 months which would impact his 2027 season. -

IMO this should be removed from the club's decision making.
The club doctor and specialists give the player their advice. And the player and player alone choose if they want to risk it.

It's their career and they should have some autonomy to make those choices.

Don't think it matters tbh.
If this week, we're boosting to bring in Retschko and AJ + upgrade.
If next week, we're boosting to bring in Cumming and AJ + upgrade.
Get what you are saying, but it matters to me, was planning a double upgrade.
Would like Jones, but Retschko is clearly coming in.
Just 4 not going into 3 for me, but that's individual circumstance.
