Clap clap AustraliaPoor decision all round, it's gonna come back to bite us on the arse. Australia was doing fine and now everythings changed. Was there need for a change? Nope. Even though they say they will, will Labor actually do much better of a job than Liberal? No.

Anyway super Kev will see everything will be ok.![]()
What an amazing insight into the modern day voter. It sounds like a bumper sticker and a t-shirt.
I am a Liberal Voter. But in reality am not fussed over the ALP winning. They basically follow an economic conservatist line which I agree with. My dad, a trade Unionist would be turing in his grave if he heard an ALP leader speak of Economic rationalism and Budget surpluses. I guess the only fear I have, all be it minor, is that Rudd loses the leadership in Caucus. ie Keating and Hawke.
However I also feel that the ALP government will be a one termer. 2008 is going to be a harsh year. The beginning of the slowdown of the boom. Notice the ALP have set no Economic targets. When things get harsh next year and the following year the muppets who voted for a change will blame the ALP. Sad thing is it wont be there fault, will happen even if the Libs are in. Booms do not last forever and this one is long overdue to end.
We have not felt the effects of the subprime crisis in the US. China is the main reason for our boom, and they are holding an Olympics next year. Every country that holds the Olympics suffers a period of economic drain after it.
Notice Costello was happy to win his seat, he can see the writing on the wall.
Costello has just announced that he is quiting politics after this election and wont lead
Seriously can we please close this thread.
Half of shit that is coming out of your mouths is ridiculas and childish from both sides.
Get a grip people. This country is in better shape than it has ever been. A change of government was going to happen eventually. That's just the way it is. Might be a good thing Liberals. Let's wait and see.
So... accept the defeat Liberals (I am liberal through and through) We can all be proud.
Pay some respect Labour and don't be so ungreatful. Enjoy a drink and lets celebrate this great country.
As both Leaders said today. We are a great country and we are in for some very prosperous times. Let's all drink to that.
END THREAD MODS![]()

Why exactly? We talked the talk for 6 weeks of the campaign, i think we're entitled to a little bit of reflection afterwards.
Whether Liberals like it or not, it really happened. You cant stick your head in the sand and pretend its going away.
So maybe we should start a new thread or atleast should have a new title. Rudd Labor - New Government or something. Howard is no more!
Who is sticking their head in the sand. My post pretty much accepted the fact we have a new leader and was saying it might be a good thing.
See this is what I am talking about. The usual vomit.![]()
Yeah, you accepted it, whilst demanding that the moderators censor this thread, and shut down commentary on it. A new thread? Why? This ones perfectly serviceable, and has so very much fun left in it.
Suck it up champ, all the angry smilies in the world dont change the fact that the evil empire has fallen. Locking this thread wont change that. Meanwhile, trying to attack others calling it 'vomit' reeks of terrible sportsmanship. People are entitled to their moment.

Congratulations to the Australian Labor Party and the Honourable Kevin Rudd by becoming the 30th Prime Minister of Australia
Congratulations to the Honourable Mr John Howard for serving this country for 33 year and as prime Minister for the last 11, some say you have been the best PM we have has. Well done on a great career.
Commiserations Mr Peter Costello – by retiring from the Liberal Party of Australia it appears as if you have just jumped of a sinking ship.
Note – Mods can you change the title of this thread to “Kevin Rudd – 30th Prime Minister of Australia”
Make that 'Kevin Rudd – 26th Prime Minister of Australia'
OMG you believe the rubbish that the Liberal party sprout.
unbelievable.
Dont worry you can thank us later when that work choices rubbish is scrapped and businesses will no longer be able to bully workers around and when we see some government spending on services and infrastructure.
yeah I heard that. pathetic by him, but I guess now it time for him to go to make some real coin.Costello has just announced that he is quiting politics after this election and wont lead
