    The age predictions

Its amazing how similar all their predictions are. they all have exactly the same bottom seven, and they tip just about every club to finish in a similar position on the ladder. My guess is that they all spend a lot of time talking to each other about football, they read and watch the same...

Lions re-sign Power, Lappin, Bradshaw and Michael

I think its a shame that we couldn't do a deal for Notting. Sure, he's given us some good games in the past but the time for him to step and cement his spot in the team has been and gone. We should have traded him while we could still get some value for him.

    Jason Gram going...

Definitely a good deal for both sides. The saints get a better player than they would have got with pick #23, who has had two years at the most successful club in the land. For the Lions, they lose a little pressure on the salary cap. As the value of players' contracts increase over time...

    Jason Gram to Essendon?

How about we give you Gram, and in exchange you take Caracella as well?

    List Prediction for 2004

I doubt we'll be increasing our list to more than 36, and I suspect we'll only use three of our picks in the draft. After all, its always a bit of a lottery for the Lions to find kids who actually want to play. Better off holding on to someone like Morrison or Wright.

    Brisbane Exodus hardly suprising

Your post doesn't really stand up to scrutiny, Pevers. Clarke, Lawrence, Headland and Molloy all had established spots in the 22 when they left, and each of them asked to be traded. In any case, you can't deny that having to commute from Brisbane to Melbourne each time players like Gram...

    Trade possibilities.

We'd be idiots to trade Bradshaw, particularly as three of our latest high picks (cupido, Headland, Gram) have all been traded or about to be traded by their request. If we have good key position players that want to stay, we should hang on to em for dear life.

    lappin to blueland

I think the question is why would Carlton want Lappin? He's a great player, but run with players are a dime a dozen at the moment and he'll need the rest of the team to win the ball for him to be any use. And a 28 year old with a dodgy leg, cracked ribs and a punctured lung is not exactly the...

    Tim Notting

Story on the AFL website said that Paul Roos has declared an interest in Tim Notting. Personally I don't think he has much of a future at the Lions and I'd be prepared to let him go for a second round draft pick. What do other people think?

    Was Black the best?

Judd's game against Brisbane at the Gabba was as good as any performace I've seen this year, taking into account the venue and the quality of the opposition.

    Victorian Football Supporters Unite!

Gee Taz, Brisbane seem to have adhered to the salary cap rules a hell of a lot better than some Victorian teams. But as a Victorian football supporter myself, I'd like to ask where this sense of equality and fairness was when my beloved Lions were knocked put of the league to make way for...

    Brisbane didn't rebuild

This is what I meant about sour grapes. Of course salary cap concessions are important. Without some advantage Brisbane couldn't survive in a state like Queensland. As for Brisbane being 10% cheaper to live in, I'm surprised its that much, but I wonder how much extra it costs someone like...

    Predict next years 8 finalists

I will make a prediction now in response to all the ladders that have been put up. There is absolutely no way that Fremantle will finish ahead of Adelaide next season. Not a chance in hell. Not just because Adelaide have a far, far better list, but also Fremantle has the lowest standards...

    Brisbane didn't rebuild

First of all, I would have thought that 1998 (eighth with just ten wins) and 1999 (last) were rebuilding years. As for salary cap concessions, I think the main purpose of these is to give the Lions the opportunity to recover from years like 1999. To join a club thats winning multiple...

What a difference one game has made!

Vintage, whatever you think of Brisbane's efforts through the home and away season, one thing is very clear. They are far and away the best side in the league at winning premierships, and thats all anyone ever remembers.
