I don’t think there specifically is a ‘Docherty Role’. Like we saw last season many tried to play it (O’Shea, Marchbank) however didn’t see the stats that docherty put up. I think it’s the docherty role because it’s his, he is an excellent player and he made it so good. I can see some potential upside in Newman, however he’s just unknown in such a weird Carlton defensive system. I would be much more comfortable taking a punt on proven scorers like Smith/Williams or even L.Ryan/D.Roberton. I think in 1 or 2 years down the track we could see an explosive Newman when Simpson finally retires and docherty is back to full fitness
its also funny people look for who may get the Docherty role when he wasn't there last year, so his injury isn't actually creating a role within the team to be taken, he's just not coming in and taking one up.

what's people's thoughts on paying up for Stef and then having set and forget ruckman?

I have Grundy and Stef currently. I’m watching to see if the Big O’s role changes in the pre-season, as he could replace Stef at some point. If it doesn’t appear that this is likely, Stef is certainly in consideration for R2...

Who will be leading the ruck at the doggies this year TDC?

It’s a very interesting question, but hard to know right now.

Long term, it’s Tim English. He is big, mobile and has good skills. He hurt his foot last year and missed a few weeks.

But our best form last year was with Trengove as our ruckman. Was that because we had a few players back, other teams were finishing up for the year ? Or did the bigger body help in those contests around the ground.

I’m going to watch English closely. He may be ready sooner than people expect, provided he doesn’t get injured.

Boyd is apparently on restricted duties, our backup is Sweet, a mature ager from SA (I think).

So, Trengove in the box seat, English the young colt, Boyd injured, Sweet if everyone else gets hurt..

I'm all in on English. He is your future and alot better then what the traders made him to be last year....

Extremely mobile and I think he benefits from the new rules! Almost chased down Ollie Florent last year!

Surely Trengove sits down back and pinch hits. From what ive heard Boyd is a long way off (which isn't surprising)

Stick to your guns. If your not picking Cripps, you may as well try and find a POD and go that way. What does the rest of your mid look like
I like consistency. I've got MacRae, Coniglio, Crouch and my fourth premo is up in the air.

Cripps was never locked, he's just been sitting there as an expensive placeholder, knowing that I can trade down to anybody

Just had a look at the new site. Sorry, if already mentioned on here; can't see ownership % and seems we can't drag anymore

There are a whole heap of issues.

I don’t get why they don’t involve someone who actually plays this game to assist with design.

It also seems once your side is complete - you cannot select players to be favourites. You have to be one player short on field to select someone to the favourite category.

It's a complete **** up in my opinion.

It just shows (from Calvin’s comments) how hard it is for accuracy in reporting. Once you start making a living or reputation from this - you throw away honesty and say ‘everything is awesome’....

They must be forced to say good things about it because as massive fans themselves they surely can see all of the issues.

The lack of functionality is making me think about jumping to another fantasy platform.
