With the 6-6-6 rule, the wingers just have to be lined up anywhere along the sides of the square. Couldn't we (or any team for that matter) just line up both wingers on the edge of the square at the defensive end and when the balls bounced just get them to head to CHB from there to be the loose man. We could just get vlastuin to line up on the wings now and do exactly that, or you get the wingers to just sprint in towards the centre from there, still coming from the defensive side. I honestly don't see how this rule will change much if anything,wont take long for the spare man to get back there, might free up a few seconds max.

Also how does the rule work on the smaller grounds like the SCG where the 50 touches the back of the square, couldn't you just have blokes charging in from there. Its a ill thought out rule considering the inconsistencies in our game on ground sizes.

Yes, thats why its a dumb rule, its cosmetic and wont actually have any impact on the game whatsoever

I’m giving the AFL the benefit of the doubt and saying that they know it won’t change anything, they’ve introduced it to appease the whingers.

Like Dangerwhinge, i reckon this 6-6-6 is because of him and remember who has the longest ground in the AFL, harder for those backs to get into the square as opposed to starting on the square itself, remember Danger saying that he wants to run away from packs with no one in front of him like Judd.
