The 2017 draft looks relatively strong.
Rayner, Brayshaw, Cerra, Coffield, Stephenson, Dow, among others, Higgins of course.
I wouldn't be discarding the top 20-25 players in the draft.
It is a great learning experience for Balta.
He will learn from premiership players what is required, hard work, discipline, lack of ego, teamwork.
It is invaluable experience for young players.

Before we recruited him I was against taking him and thought we should run with Riewoldt and Balta and spend the money on a gun midfielder instead of him.

I still have that view that's what we should have done, it will be interesting to see if I was on the right train of thinking or if Lynch was the right call. I'm not convinced yet.
I think you’re way off the mark Juss. Lynch will be a star for us

That gun mid would have cost us RCD +

turned 19 just 3 months ago , has the physique of a 25 year old

Not unlike myself I’m 29 but have the physique of a 70 year old

Belief is; New rules = new tactics. But the new rules don't really change the underlying logic of current tactics much IMHO.

666 = set up close to your preferred structure and the p[layers run to where you want them to be immediately. End up pretty much where you were in 2018.

Longer space to kick out. Creates more space in defensive 50 and the ability for long kicks to get to the wing. But why will that change the world? It just pushes the current situation 5-10m further out. I reckon that you play intercept marking players deeper either side and that kills the long kick out. Then you have a little more space to hit up short targets inside 50. So you can move ht ball a little easier out from a behind. But nothing too exciting I would have thought. Might be some scope to run the ball out because you'll have enough space to play a couple of guys behind the kick out. But whether that is a good idea I won't know.

Yep our forward line will become so much more effective now, Balta is a talent but stil young and hasn’t played out full games in VFL yet, we’re in a premiership window he can wait.

Why would people be making any judgement on Balta at 19 years old lmao wont be till 21/22 when he shows more imo

Will be a gun

Absolutely no point in rushing Lynch.
It's not as if he was a part of the team over the past 2 years and will be missed.
Our forward setup worked beautifully without him, in any case.
Having said that though, look forward to seeing him.
