Real Madrid lost to Girona 2-1. I can’t believe that Barcelona can afford to only pick up 3 of 12 points earlier in the season and draw twice in a row to start this month and still be 7 points clear right now. Ronaldo made LA Liga somewhat competitive.

We’re going to have to brace ourselves on a Madrid approach for Poch in the summer. To be honest you’d have to be a bit of a mug to go there, for all their success it’s a bit of a basket case

That awkward moment when you don’t expect that sort of finish lol.

Yeah, they have certainly become a basket case. The run in the CL the last few years is impossible to replicate and the league with Barcelona still around isn’t easy. And you know what, I love it. There is no worse club than Real Madrid.

I used to prefer Madrid to Barca, but not anymore. Can no longer get behind a club that sacks every manager if they don’t win the league or CL. Plus their fans can never be satisfied. I hear they even have it in for Bale now. Unbelievably shit club

Gareth Bale has had problems with the fans in Madrid for years. I don’t get not getting behind one of your own footballers, ridiculous. I will always prefer Barcelona to them, beautiful, classic football club.

In relation to capping away tickets at 30 quid

“No amount of charity giving or the deployment of slick PR can make up for the reputation we have garnered, fairly or unfairly, in the court of public opinion, of being greedy b******* and not giving two hoots for the fans,” the Premier League’s former chief executive Richard Scudamore said.

That earned a short response from Levy, who replied: “Happy to do a call with us top six… I personally hate the idea.”

Lol good point see edited post

Wtf, how could anyone hate the idea of making the sport more accessible to the fans.

The amount of money made from increasing tickets from 30 to, say, 50 quid is incomparable to the TV money, sponsorship, etc. pocketed.

Baffles me. Especially if it's a blanket rule and not like our fans are getting charged more elsewhere and we are giving that clubs fans a cheaper ticket

Haha tbh I've always wondered if this has been tried at any level in Aussie rules. Just have one guy with the footy surrounded tightly by the other 17, who escort him to the goals. It would be pretty hard for the opposition to get to the guy with the ball with that many players around him without giving away a free kick.

This is considered unsportsmanlike conduct to many. When presented with this scenario in a referee training course we were told to book one player at a time until they stopped this tactic. In the course the scenario was 1 player with the ball at his feet on the corner flag surrounded by his entire team.

It would truly be a nadir for the premier league if MBS buys Manchester United. Some would argue no different to Abramovich or the Sheiks, but after the Khashoggi affair this year, it would be very uncomfortable. Not sure if I was a fan, that I’d support the club with the same vigor post MBS taking over.

They'd be pretty immaterial to FFP overs/unders
Our match day income has gone up around £35m a year since FFP came in.

Ground is bigger and half of level 2 was converted to hospitality, but prices has risen year on year since FFP came in.
