My body is ready.

I'm looking forward to the hot day in order to help me get back into peak drinking form for the season ahead.

I'll be trying out a few new structures (OK, pubs) over the pre season and perhaps into the early rounds, but the core of my recent success will be maintained.

This must be like being alive during WW1 - people giving a shit about Melbourne.

Lol they will never again get 3 games in a row of crowds 90k plus. Early in the season back to the low crowds Melbourne usually get :)

Melbourne board commenting on media reports they'll be fairly weak, including resting several 'stars'.

Makes sense I suppose....Their 2nd JLT game is closer to home (Casey) and they have a longer break between JLT2 & rnd 1, so it makes sense they'd go harder then.

last year Essendon did take a very low key approach to JLT 1 , we on the other hand took a professional approach , without going overly hard

Essendon got lambasted for their approach and output in the game

and their first part of the season was all over the place and the whole club was a basket case
a big blood letting saw every one get their heads together but too late a season was wasted

we continued our approach in JLT 2 and built into the season nicely and finished minor premiers

I hope we take a similar approach this year , no getting ahead of ourselves , working hard , being professional

and no doubt we wont see RCD or Ross in round 1 unless they absolutely earn it (think of Blames words "best side")

My doubt regarding JLT2 is that it's in Tas, not a long trip to be sure, but a few senior guys might still skip the trip, although of course it'll be spun as giving the new kids experience both in the game and for travelling.

Crowds have been trending upwards for 5 years now, but yes I agree we won’t be pulling 90K against Port and Geelong in the first two rounds.

I met Brayshaw, impressive player.
Major year for the young lad.

We're actually playing a pretty strong side, although I think McDonald/Oliver/Gawn/Brayshaw will be lucky to see more than a 1/2 of gametime.

Yep weve gone very strong

Caddy, lynch, castagna obvious outs

Should be a good contest
