His influence on the team may not be evident in his first year in a development phase, but if we can hang onto him, he will be invaluable when our young list starts maturing towards finals.

It will take time recalibrate the new players, but we’ll put the wind up a few an knock off some unexpected ones.
Next year onwards it starts to galvanize better, the gloomy years are over.
Let’s start on the right foot and smack the Tigers on Thursday.
Go Baggers

Fit and trim and fast...I think thats what we will see. Even in the ten days between games there will be changes in shape....all tailored down to game one

Thats a very different thing to deliberately letting opponents get the ball just to be able to hurt them and get the ball secondhand from poor umpiring interpretation.....thats low. Its crept into the game steadily and will stay until they protect the man who goes and gets the footy.

The "rules" of the game encourage all sorts of nasty behaviours. The rules encourage chicken winging, the rules encourage hip and shoulders on a bloke who is within 5 meters of a contest - even though they don't have the ball, the rules allow for one bloke to climb over another bloke by kneeing him at full flight from behind mind you first into the kidneys and then into the back of the head - AFL is nasty - much nastier than any rugby code and a lot of nasty is perfectly legal and 'part of the game'.... but a defender isn't allowed to tackle a bloke (below the knees - even if the tackles slides) and players have to punch the ball to get rid of it legally by hand - never mind that most times in close - they dont - flying the flag is a bucnh of blokes chst puffing grabbing jumpers scowling at each other and pretending to hide punches by holding the jumper whilst they do it- yep AFL is crazy.

what is bugging you is nothing much compared to what is considered fair play - and play on ...:)

In the context of what is 'fair play' in AFL - I reckon any player who doesn't learn to protect themselves needs a few sessions of OH&S.:p

Why the early start (6.50pm over here), gunna miss the first half.
Thursday night games are always a 7.20 start. Friday night games are 7.50.

As stated by Dadda Dave , those of us who live in the land where we don't want our curtains to fade, or our cows to get confused, will have a 6.20 start for this game.

Expect the forward trio to fire
Crippa and his young mates to shine
Blues in a close one

Hanging out for this one
Go blues

New regulations will help us and
Yup agree , Fasolo Curnow McGovern and Cunngham interchanging Murphy and Garlett will do well in the wide open spaces.

I fly to Perth on Tuesday, squish in 2 days worth of meetings …. at Fraser Suites in Perth, delayed my flight back until Friday 17:30 …..

That's dedication ….

I'll be at Crown .. in the sports bar at 15:00 Perth time.

I agree. Be interesting to see a comparative work-up of his kicking distances. A lot of short stuff but that's a positive if it means we keep possession. Crazy thing is he has so much time he can set up a card table and work out his next half dozen options on a piece of paper before executing - silk is silk........

plan the NBN even...

4 more sleeps!

Happy :fourleaf: St Patrick's Day :fourleaf: ...
