the kids' homes have police guards while they sort through all the death threats. It all falls on the media, because in the rush to have the story first, they didn't fact check shit, and made Sandmann the most hated person in the country for all liberals until the real story started coming out.

They don't compare in the slightest. AOC is LOVED by many, and those who don't like her are political/ideological opponents. They don't call for her to be doxxed, see her as the representative of everything bad about Trump and white people etc. She's also an adult and an elected official, not a teenager at school. One asks for and revels in the limelight and one never had a say in it. Totally different.

On a side note, I said very early on after the Covington thing that the reaction in the media was so bad and wrong that they would likely sue, and that's happening to the tune of $200m apparently. Has been a while since I looked into it so I'm running off memory here, but a few posters questioned whether it would get to that stage.
