The actors who played the parts of James Ashby and Steve Dickson were brilliant. They fooled me as I thought it was them.

1) A reflection of the growing and well deserved mistrust of the major parties and the wasteful out of touch cesspool known as Canberra.
2) The rising unemployment and lack of infrastructure in regional areas while we spend money on foreign aid and alleged refugees.
3) They see the damage that reckless (excessive qty not racial makeup) immigration has done to our major cities and don't want it to happen to them.

So the number of Muslims living in Queensland is approximately 30,210.

The population of Queensland is circa 5m.

I watched Bob Roberts recently and two things struck me

First, how much of the environment there, particularly his messaging and the influence of media organisations and right wing financiers masquerading as disinterested players in amplifying it resonates with what we see now.

Second, how much they overplayed the sophistication required to pull it off. We dont need an evil genius, or a sophisticated right wing black ops plot. Its all dumb, its all out in the open, and people are still voting for it.

One Nation picks up votes because the mainstream parties don't address widespread concerns, in particular, high immigration.

Don’t know much about Hanson-Young but she at least appears to be able to navigate through from the start of a sentence to the end of it without coming to grief embarrassingly.

Interesting that you mention the Greens, which you could describe as the other significant non-major party. They’re having their internal spats right now and the hierarchy of power nationally still needs to be worked through and a structure arrived at, but they still seem to have a fundamental competence as individual politicians and as a party.

On the other hand, Hanson forever seems to be chewing through staff and colleagues, at a quite astonishing rate. No-one lasts very long with her, do they? She must be a real handful to try to work with.

I pulled into a take away shop in Childers run by Pauline's friend of 20 years and she was running until she got the bill from Ashby for the core flute advertising.
She saw me as a potential local and a potential voter ,gave me a free coffee and her political manifesto.
I strung her along,hoping it was going to get somewhere.....it didnt.
Just a longing for White Australia of the 50s
When I talked trickle down economics and egalitarianism and nationalised industry and related it back to the 50s in simplified terms so she could understand......still nothing.
All I got in return is lots of Pauline is good, she is a really nice person,she is not a racist, Ive known her for 20 years.
Summation: not very bright,no idea,no plan,just blind faith in Pauline

Sadly IMHO they typify the people that are attracted to power & they are increasingly members of the political parties, the movers & shakers are happy to sit outside the tent & pull the strings via donations.

Hanson-Young is a poor speaker but she does know her subject area.
Hanson believes that film and audio can be changed via 'cut and paste'. Surely there must be someone in her team that can tell how it is 'edited'.
