This game has been horrific. Both teams disposing of the ball terribly.

Billings has so much talent but has had a terrible start. Including shitting himself and going softly into a contest (leading to him getting bundled over), shitting himself when manning the mark and jumping/pulling his hands away from the ball so it didn’t hit him, and failing to move his god damn feet when defending space, leading to an easy Essendon mark coming out of defence. Wake up.

Happy with this start. Essendon should be all guns blazing first quarter, so keeping it tight early might just enable us to wear them down as the game goes on.

He’s not wrong though. Structurally we keep going I50 with no tall targets. We are blazing away and bombing it long and high to outnumbered small forwards. We slow down when we should be running it and backing our pace. And we blaze away when there’s no runners in support.
