Most of all, I'm thrilled for everyone on here after the shit sandwich we were force fed last year.

Regardless of what the rest of the year brings, favour and enjoy the win.

So I shouldn't have done the ladder predictor and manufactured a top 4 finish on my new found enthusiasm yet?

A quick shout out to Jack Steele, for putting Stringer down hard and giving away a 50 when it was appropriate to do so.
And Parker, for nailing McGrath on a hospital pass that he'll never forget.
Hardness is FINALLY back. We've needed more kent for some time..
It's great that we are hurting players and making them earn it. Been lacking for too long.

The best is yet to come.
We are witnessing the group develop from boys to men each week.
This playing group has played a consistent brand of footy in each of the 4 matches this year (JLT included).
Hats off to the coaching staff and the players for buying in to the game plan, and beginning to execute it.
As their confidence grows so will their ability to execute and their level of expectation of each other.
Something is brewing.

Savage once again showing the haters how good he can be.
And thank god for Marshall, he was super.
Perhaps it is finally time the likes of lonie, sinclair etc are breaking out, hope they can keep it up.

But the next 2 weeks will be telling. Freo then hawks at etihad. After that we have dees, crows, giants, eagles, pies

I get your point but last week the Saints were playing songs after goals that sounded as if the crowd was actually singing them. Saints are guilty of that kind of stuff, too. Initially I thought they may have left a microphone in that section of crowd that does sing songs for each player after they do something good. Turns out it was all prerecorded nonsense.

Agree. The songs are great when the 20 blokes in that one bay sing them about the player who kicked the goal. Broadcasting them over the PA was pathetic. I don't know if they didn't have songs for everyone or if they decided it wasn't working but it did seem to stop after the first few times. I hope it does not return for the Hawthorn game.

I knew the moment my boy crawled into the bed next to us at 5am and proceeded to kick the crap out of the two of us for the next two hours, that the Saints would win. Just caught up with all the positivity on here, watched highlights, and hope to find a stream for the game somewhere later. We'll done Sainters. Loved the Nicky & Parker vibe post game...Nicky was my fave player as a kid, and Parker is putting smiles on all of our worry lines...lets milk the joy out of this win, we all f*cking deserve it...it aunt easy being a saints supporter, but when we get a taste, we sure know how to enjoy it 👍👍 🤘🍻

Can you tell us the result next week so I don’t have to watch it

Parker made a big impact in the last quarter when he got switched into the midfield, he's the sort of fast tough mid we need.

He's not just a one trick small forward pony.

He's a solid defender but he's no Sam Fisher, he doesn't provide the rebound that turns defence into attack in the twinkling of an eye Roy and HG style.

People forget how good Fisher was, in that drawn 2010 GF he got overshadowed by Lenny and BJ's heroics but he was every bit as good as them.

Sam Fisher was a genuine A grader, Wilkie is a C+ grader at best so let's not get too carried away with him.
Willie just played his second game. how many had Fisher played by 2010...

Have to say the Devon Smith dive when no one was near his head was a pretty pathetic moment for him.

The shittest bit was the constantly patting at his head like he was checking it was still attached I get that sometimes you stage but to do it then continue the charade was embarrassing. The replay made him look very Essendon.

Blake Acres was quite rusty but the thing I like about him is his hands. He often marks the ball under pressure and can open the play up for us. Didn't have a great game but thought he made a difference - will definitely hold his spot. The moment where he went to ground in the marking contest last quarter was a forgettable one, but generally he had a good game.

Newnes I thought was really good at times but looked so PANICKY when we were under pressure. Would love him to iron that out of his game, just seems to rush decisions when the team are under pressure when he's a guy that we need to have a cool head. Gave away that dumb deliberate as well as a few other rushed kicks out of defence.

Savage I thought was enormous today. Demanded the football and was the steadier in defence. Fantastic game and seems fit as he's ever been, running back again and again to intercept.

Our forward entries in the first quarter, when we were dominating, were poor. We need to learn how to kill off a team that we are on top of, have a few set plays to kick easy goals.

Great win !!

Billings getting 28 touches through the middle of the ground is a great sign. Even saw him in one of the dust ups which is a welcome change for him. Really seems to have embraced the leadership group elevation.

Bruce is such a key player for us. Always offers a contest and gets the boys up.

To top the day off, bumped into Nicky at the Hof after the game and we all did a shot with him. What a legend !

The thing is the umpire gave the free based on his reaction. Which was a complete act. Don't think that ump will trust him anymore.

So someone tell me again how Gresh is better as a forward?

We need three of him, luckily Predator can stalk the forward line for him and leave Gresh to the midfield. Still managed to come in with a goal in the most opportune time. The best thing is that we still haven't seen anything like Stuv's best yet. He's going to be getting better every week.
