There was a reported 41K yesterday and there's no way it was that full.

AO fudge all crowd numbers, not just theirs, not just ours.
Are you saying today wasn’t as full as last night? Because from tv it certainly looked fuller today!

No I mean that game didn't look as full as they said, and today didn't look chockers.

Still a damn fine crowd.

Today I cried, before a ball was even bounced because I couldn't believe how many people were there for a woman's sporting event.

Then I cried when the girls ran out to such a loud cheer and it really felt like a grandfinal.

Next I cried when I saw Chloe go down knowing she's previously done and ACL

Then absolutley lost it crying when Erin went down, the same as when I was 9 and Tony Modra went down in 97, more tears flowed as I realised the entire stadium was on its feet giving Erin a Standing ovation.

The siren sounded at the end of the game and once again cried because I was so happy and proud of our girls our members and our club.

Its been a very emotional day. I love this club with my entire being

Mirrored my day completely! And that was exactly how it unfolded in 2017 too (only I was there then, and soaked up the celebration with the girls!). Just So proud!:blueheart::yellowheart:

Port, where Shanghai is a sell out and success but we inflate AFLW crowds.

Cognitive dissonance

I've given up trying to understand the "mind" of a Port supporter.

I was exactly the same.

There was a little old lady next to me with a smile and tears in her eyes all day. Just beautiful.

Sad enough to be bothered posting? Sad about what? I am not following the train of thought you are having here. But anyway, sorry to intrude in to YOUR thread as it seems you are this threads police. Enjoy your night celebrating.

Nah, you're good value Manure, always have been.

And you're right. There's no way there was 53000.

Which isnt a shot in itself, because its ****ing amazing we got the crowd that we did. That was massive.

It was awesome, and a massive boon for the game to have a crowd that size. Was it dubious, sure, but doesnt take away an amazing crowd and day.

The girls didn't have their day ruined by it. I said the big crowd was great. Just provide that support all year. I went to every game. At least 30,000 of those that turned up hadn't been to one.
They might now after experiencing this

Big crowds are great. But what pissed me of was that alot of AFC fans at this game gave little to no shits about AFLW and simply decided to gate crash the party of those of us who go to every game. This is why free tickets don't work. Instead of having 20,000 keen AFLW fans enjoying the game and AO facilities plus the public transport on offer we got screwed. Yes it's great to have that support but do it the whole season don't just turn up because you want to join in the party. Utter selfish behaviour. I don't blame AO nor Adelaide metro for this.

Shattered for Erin and Chloe, but a fantastic performance all round. The crowd was great and for those doubting a 50k+ figure, there were shit loads of people that were standing on lower levels that never went up higher because the top level of the Eastern and Riverbank were initially shut. In additon to this, there was absolute buttloads of kids and babies, so many babies and they count as spectators.

Edit: But also maybe some people got counted twice.

Nah, look I think that's just not really true. I've been to every one of the the 50k plus games, and the crowds at the bottom tier are far far bigger than today.

We didnt suddenly engage an army of tiny people, or the invisible, I think.

I'm surprised he didn't complain about not being personally thanked in the speeches for being such a selfless hero.

I reckon the players might have apologised to him for being so good that his game day experience was clogged with other supporters.

How do you know why people go?
I wasn’t interested enough for our early game s at thebby in season 1.
Watching on tv I loved them
Then as the crowds were strong and how I hate being packed in like sardines at surbabn ovals I didn’t attend a game until the bulldogs game in season 2 when the bandwagon fell off due to 2 early losses
Couldn’t make Bulldogs game this year.
Was busy for Geelong game only getting home for the 2nd half
Then outright refused to go to unley as itd be more packed then Norwood oval. Anzac Day last year was hard getting there when I was umpiring the sanflw afterwards.
Only made the 2 finals this year.

In your eyes, it’d look like I gate crashed. 1 game in 3 years before finals 2019
But I’m still a fan who supports this team.
