Same. It’s been very hot and humid up here and if either of the Qld teams have a half decent team they win in those conditions. Ironically, we finally got a cool change on Saturday and conditions were still warm but not particularly humid. Even so, you could see Freo run out of legs.

Yes it was a beautiful day up here. Suns finally have a decent fitness coach so they are the fittest they have ever been. Suns should have won by 40 points and l don't see any reason we (Saints) can't beat them in Perth. If Membery and Bruce can kick 2 or 3 each it's game on. The midfield needs to be clean with fwd 50 entries and there is no reason not to win.

Hurley & Francis really dominated after half time. We are gonna need to really improve our forward entries if we are playing small up forward.

Agree with the point about forward entries.

The other thing about our current set up - which was clearly not the plan prior to Paddy's injury - is that it really relies on Membrey playing out of his skin for someone his height. It's a testament to his quality that he does it so often, but when he is quiet (like he was this week), we really start to feel undersized.

Another thing I've been thinking about is that none of Lonie, Kent or Parker have shown much ability to lead up to the ball carrier and take a mark on the lead. Long, on the other hand, can do this and he's shown it in bursts. I think that given our small forward line, it would really ease the pressure on Bruce and Skunk if one of the small forwards could provide a marking option for the more deliberate and methodical entries inside 50. Richo said that we swapped Acres for Long to provide more height in attack, but Acres didn't really spend much time there, so we actually ended up losing a marking option.

It's very different weather though. They have dry heat, whereas it's humid here in Summer, now moving into Autumn apparently. I always used to think sub-tropical meant in-between tropical and temperate. It doesn't in practice. It means we get very hot humid & tropical weather in Summer (tropical) and dry, cold (temperate) conditions in Winter. I really don't think you can train for hot, humid conditions unless you're in them. I could barely finish the lawn when I first got here, now there's no problem. It's a huge advantage to the Qld clubs. We've been lucky both have been awful in recent years.

i'm trying to find a way to explain it for those over east. i guess it would be like the AFL creating another victorian team, which will be the merger between carlton and collingwood, then call it north melbourne sandgropers. but carlton and collingwood will still actually exist and sandgropers have nothing to do with victoria. but when they started they decided to poach as much of richmond as they could. that's fremantle. it's like a horribly botched version of GWS but with the Port Adelaide thinking behind it.

WCE is more like Hawthorn but without the history pre-1980s. they were more seen as the WA state side by many. now they're this big corporate entity. so they get away with a fair bit.

but in terms of feralness, freo leave WCE behind in their wake. there is literally nothing good about freo. all the bad parts of being a big plastic corporation mixed in with all the bad parts of their location.

they also have a terrible standard for violence against women and children at their games.

WCE fans are the worst.

I’d happily do what say Port are doing with Ryder and Lycett with Marshall and Bruce.

Whilst Marshall takes the bulk of the ruck work rest him down forward when he isn’t as often as we can.

Marshall has shown he can do that in the past, may help with the lack of prescence we have down forward when Bruce rucks.

Personally think we could still have anothe kpf in there. Members will struggle against a kpb, whick only leaves Bruce
