was just watching the goals for the saints vs drug cheats . i watched that tackle that lonie did on Hurley . The best part was after he tackled Hurley , Lonie was up so quickly to get the ball then give a lightning handball to Steven . We ended getting a goal out of nothing due to Lonie's effort . Also , watching our goals , just how disinterested did some of the drug cheats players seem to be . There were a lot of halfhearted tackles and slack running . The one where Gresham kicks our last goal , he was running towards where the ball was with his opponent , then he took off and got the handball from Bruce and kicked the goal , his opponent just let him go . Very poor by the drug cheats ........hahahahahaha

That second video is exactly what the club media crew need to be making. The goals are only half the story, great to see the Parker hit, Lonie tackle and Geary mark among the marks and goals. Shame there wasn't one for rd. 1, but keep 'em coming!

Even as JLs advocate, and as good as his tackle was.... the absolute highlight was Parker's hit.

Word will be spreading. Whatever you do, don't go into the Saints fwd half and try to defend against them.... they got themselves a madman down there... and you is gonna get hurt reeeeeeal bad

I noticed in the 1st round 3 players were trying to push and shove Parker, he just dropped his arms, unlike Long who wanted to go on with it. That tackle Parker put on the injector was a classic, best i have seen since Lenny was stitching blokes up.

Both were great but have to admit I've watched the hit from Predator 20 times compared to Lonie's tackle twice.

I get what you are saying. But seeing as we did just get Billy Slater in as a coach. It would make sense that he has taught them a few techniques from rugby. It is a different bump from what we are used to seeing in the aFl. Which is more traditionally a side on bump instead of facing your opponent front on and barging your shoulder into them. It has flattened both players, so i am not complaning!
I’ve noticed a lower body height with our front on tackling generally, even the ones we’ve missed. Looks more like a one on one front on tackle that is pretty standard rugby fair.

With Parker’s hit, he doesn’t try to wrap the arm. When the arm is down by the side there is a lot more strength in the joint and you’re able to apply more force. This is why it’s in the laws of Union (and now league) that you must wrap your arms.

Hurley had an awesome day. Ball kicked into his back, Specky taken on him and then dumped hard by the smallest player on the ground. Gun.
I remember we smashed these fiends by 100+ points. Lonie was right in the thick of it that day.
On Lonie I´ve always liked him. He´s clever the little campaigner. I reckon he´s gonna have a breakout season and folk are gonna be thinking in
a few years time "What the hell were we thinking even considering trading or delisting this bloke".

They need to get one of those music clips made up for him - my young bloke has been a fan for ages but after round 1 jumped off Lones and onto Parker after he heard that remade Clash ditty of Rock the Casbah in his honour.
Admittedly anyone over 12 found it cringeworthy but the kids loved them.

Campo not known for his defence. But attack....perhaps the greatest.
One of the nicest guys I've ever met. Lived next door to him in Syd and he always used to knock on the door and invite me for a run or whatever cos I was new to the area and didn't know anyone. Champion player and person.

Couldn't watch the game due to a 21st and am finally getting around to watching the replay. Halfway through the second qtr. Encouraging that there are clear things which can be improved. Brown's hands in the first qtr were poor and looked rusty. No doubt that will change quickly. Acres looked rusty and much more fumbly than normal. Both will be better for the run.

Gresham is controlling the game. A natural mid - reads the tap well and knows how to go from congestion to getting away a clean disposal. His set ups of Bruce's big mark and then Parker in a five minute period is impressive.

Australia doesnt win the 1999 WC without him.

Or was it the 1991 WC? Cant remember, all I remember is that he was awesome

Here’s an interesting comparison between Dunstan and Libba who was apparently too boring a player to try and recruit last year. Basically what Dunstan does compared to what an inside mid is meant to be doing.

That would’ve been the upgrade on Dunstan that we desperately need. Big body, blocking off the ball bla bla bla his job is to win it and feed it out and he just doesn’t do it enough.

He's still a shit bloke, I think injury issues were the really big turn off on top of his social life. His best footy was always very high level. Just not sure what kind of influence he would have ben.

I don't think anyone has ever believed Dunstan is a better player than Libba so it's a strange comparison.

People have tried. That's when my eyes glaze over and I start thinking about the saints chances this year. Wait a minute, union...that's the Campese one right?

Edit: Nobody click "Like" on this post. I've got a perfect 3000 likes for 1000 posts. Not bragging, likes aren't that big a deal - it's just such a beautiful match. Think I might have to call it quits.
Sorry. I ruined the symmetry.

To be fair, Libba has the power of terrible tattoos on his side Screenshot_20190403_113035.jpg

Why, I believe you may be referring to THIS WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS victory against Essendon, and the Lonie goal at 2:27.

So many magnificent moments in that 100 point belting of the injectors: Lonie's goal, Bruce's chase down and goal, Joey's running goal in the pocket, Sinclair's centre clearance and running goal... and through it all, James Hird's face, filled with consternation. He resigned about a month later.

So we get hanners and carlisle? Who cares what sort of person they are. Got to trust the club to work it out.
