Fogarty’s has two major deficiencies that need development, aerobic fitness base and he does not find the footy enough. Playing him in the backline will allow him to develop those aspects of his game more than if he was played as a forward with a defender constantly on his back.

For the record, I think he is a great forward prospect but he needs to get MUCH fitter and he needs to develop his ball getting ability. In the long run, playing games this early in his career in defense will help his development. It’s not about here and now but the long terms with these kids.
I sort of get what you're saying, but the reality is very different.

We have 2 promising tall forwards in the 2s, it is nonsensical to play either one in defence. He's been woeful 2 weeks in a row, don't let stats fool you he was horrid last week too.

We also have to think about developing an understanding between those 2 along with Stengle, Davis and co. They are parts of the future of the club.

Same height as Tex Walker actually 193cm
I’m 185 and my bro 188 and we both stood next to him in a cafe and he would be no more than 189cm . Ellis Yolmen is 189cm and they look the same standing next to one another. The afc heights on website is false .

That’s two good games in a row for poholke. Another 12 or 13 of those and he might get his name put forward at selection.
I don't really rate him but he would have helped last night way more than Mackay did.

Maaaate all players are measured at the AFL draft combine. you can rest assured that's his height.

And we thought it would be a good idea to put Fog on him to be demolarised, fuxk me drunk
I don't think it'll demoralize him as such, he's a confident kid. He will be rather disappointed and frustrated.

Given how well he played, would he be any chance of coming in given Seeds out?
Not a chance.

It’s only like for like if DMac is coming back in. We already shuffled Seed to a forward pocket to make room for DMac. We can’t rob outside minutes from DMac.

DMac has it covered

It's so depressing.

That's 2 very good weeks for Sholl now, ans this one against the odds.

Any news on McPherson ??

Injury is killing his career.

202cm...he's really not that good.

And Fogarty's not that good as a defender
McBean is a proven spud !!! ....end of story

Ok here’s my prediction based on where we’re at and what I saw tonight

Just for the sake of putting it out there

Pyke sacked in the next year or so. Replaced by Mark Stone current Glenelg senior coach, who has them playing desperate disciplined effort to the final minute

Does he stand out for his height on field ? . If he were 193cm like listed you would notice him . That was Bocks height and he ain’t the same as Bock . Anyway pointless conversation but pay attention to it next time you see him on tv

A few thoughts;
1) Another consistent display by the men in green. Made (crow) players earn their frees. Looked for any kind of infringement for Glenelg players. It used to annoy me, now I find it amusing.
2) THOR, not outstanding but he is ready.
3) Galluch, had more zip but kept missing targets (will fit in well in the Ones).
4) Stengle, showed glimpses but not demanding to be picked.
5) CEY and Poholke; Both played well but do we need another inside mid? Dylan spent more time forward this week.
6) Himmelberg; Not playing with confidence atm, needs to build fitness.
7) Sholl; skinny but looks a great future prospect. IMHO would be killed in the AFL until he builds more strength.
8) FOG proved he is NaBA. He also looked a bit flat playing forward in the pre-season. Classic 2nd year blues.
9) Davis; shows silky touch but needs to do more. Revisit at the end of April.
10) Wilson; started at half back then moved on ball. Probably our most influential player but still misses targets.
11) Hunter; The usual mixture of good and bad. Overall quite good but not demanding to be picked in the AFL.
12) McPherson; was looking good......and then did a hammy.
13) Butts, Hamill; showed glimpses but a long way to go.
14) Andy Otten; looked really cooked.
15) NED; did some nice things but don’t expect much ats if he gets into the Ones.;
16) Strachan; needs a year to build up his body.
17) Matthew Wright; sadly, he would be our best forward if we could pick him in the AFL.

Overall, for the kangas match;
Greenwood, probably.
Gallucci and Poholke, possibly
FOG, Otten, CEY, Hunter, McHenry, Stengle, Davis, Himmelberg; No, no, no, no, no, no, no and no.
