Up by +5 goals halfway through the last quarter. Not sure they should be concerned about not 'putting us away'.I agree with others that it’s not panic stations - and that “moments” cost us and we could have won.
If I was Simpson, I would be concerned that despite Coll playing poorly WC couldn’t put us away.
And that there is much more collective improvement in Coll given how poor we played, than WC.
I am comfortable that this loss gives us ample time to regroup, revise and refine a game plan to beat WC.
Because they are the ONLY benchmark.
I don't think they'll be concerned. They'll be delighted with how tight their defensive structures are already at Round 3, but it was only two goals difference in the last quarter, then a lucky 50 and us not having drilled enough on how to cope with the new 50 rule, finished us off. We kept in it, despite nothing we tried working. We can get them next time.Up by +5 goals halfway through the last quarter. Not sure they should be concerned about not 'putting us away'.
Not for this game but eventuallyBit tough when Murphy injured his ankle in the first quarter in the VFL on Saturday.
In time. In the future when he has more experience. Still young. But we prob won't go that way unless injuries. Not for this game but eventually
Good. If we start suspending guys for bumps that aren't high, but the head of the bumpee heads down and hits the bumpers head, then we're stuffed.Adams clear to play.
Wet Toast beat us by 4 odd goals, I thought they played great I thought we were very ordinary at times. 2 goals from
BS fifties. It’s not ideal that they have beaten us 4 in a row it’s also not a big deal. I think we have played 2 top 4 teams already would of been 3 if the tigers weren’t off the boil. It’s not panic stations but that said games that we should win like the doggie we need too and to win convincingly.
Midfield to gel better and run both ways
More forward pressure
Back to a more measured exit from defence
It would be a harsh move to have him not play in the VFL if that was the case. I reckon he'll be back. I think the Richmond game suckered us into believing that we had cracked the midfield zone defence and wouldn't have to go long down the line anymore. We need him buzzing around making a ground level contest when we are forced to bomb it into the zone.I want us to go unchanged, however if we were to be less passive with our 22, this is what I would like to see, with an eye on a bit of speed, and being strengthened at the clearances.
IN: Sier OUT: Greenwood
For greater strength at the centre bounce and for someone ballistically positive in their forward ball movement.
IN: Quaynor OUT: Aish
To generate more run and carry. Probably too early for Quaynor though.
IN: Goldsack OUT: Roughead
To add more speed, mobility and leadership to defence. I feel it is better for defensive balance most weeks. Moore can take the big boys, Goldsack is likely to be a good fit for most second forwards.
Varcoe will also be knocking back on the selectiondoor if some of our small forwards keep having quiet games. His defensive pressure and speed adds a balance to our forward mix. Although now he's dropped I wonder if we wait for his own form to lift in the VFL first.

Have you turned on Aish TD?
Sierra didn't play in twos.Brayden Sier just needs to come in as a hands dirty midfielder, he won't though which is a shame
WC controlled the corridor. Not enough run, and switches with meters gained. They corralled and pressured us into kicks down the line.Do people think we were destroyed by WCEs midfield? I think we were just beaten at clutch moments and centre clearances. It was by no means destroyed. I thought Beams could be the big bodied contested beast, but he is playing very outside at the moment.
I have no doubt we can beat them. As I have little doubt they can beat us. We need guys like Treloar and Adams to become big moment players. I believe in them, it wasnt so long ago Gaff, Jetta, Shuey and Yeo were seen as a bit flimsy, let alone Redden and Sheed. It can change with some confidence of execution in big moments.
Sad if he was rubbed out, good newsAdams clear to play.
Rib and just because you haven't heard anything doesn't make it a personal issue it's as you say an ignorance issuePardon my ignorance, but what is the issue with Sier? Or is it a personal issue / mystery?
I thought you were still on rookie list.
