Do you expect in the future that Thursday night teams will be scrapped and teams will end up being listed an hour before the game like in soccer?
I vote no to losing Thursday night melts... That's an integral part of the port adelaide experience.

AFL admits goal review blunders in Lions v Pies game
The first blunder came in the first quarter when Collingwood forward Brody Mihocek was awarded a goal, despite replays clearly showing his low kick had brushed the padding wrapped around the left goal post.
The second mistake came in the fourth term when the officiating goal umpire adjudged Lion Oscar McInerney had touched the ball kicked by Pie Josh Thomas before it had crossed the goal line. However, after a review with what looked to be inconclusive vision a goal was awarded incorrectly, according to the League.

I hate essendon as much as anyone but afl clubs should be able to bring in anyone they like from their squad at any time up to the start of the game. The current system is all about protecting betting agencies. Betting agencies can **** off

Rubbish. Why have a squad of 26 if you’re allowed to take a player from outside it? Name Daniher an emergency. It’s not that hard unless you are cheating.

Maybe just scrap the emergency list? That way we can still have our Thursday night teams.

Double rubbish - with nobs on.
It's not like they're trying to bring in Buddy Franklin.

What do other professional sports leagues around the world do? Genuine question. I don't actually know

So I thought the point of these Good Friday games was to put a limelight on teams that don't usually receive it... nek minnit, Essendon get this and Anzac Day back to back.

They have to play today at the latest. Their game next week is Thursday.

We stole their best players...

So the Lions get a public apology of sorts for being stuffed up by the umps. Mmmm

To be fair, it wasn't holding the ball and if it was that tackle 15 seconds later was definitely hold the ball as well.
Seemed like the umpire started to call holding the ball as he was about to handball it. Or deemed that he had enough time to get rid of it and had already made up his mind.
