Watching the highlights from last years game against the Swans.

I had forgot how Rance got 50 against him for daring to smother Buddys kick.

That angered me and now I'm angry again.
Buddy kicked 4 goals that night and all of them were umpire assisted.

Percentage goes up and down like a yo-yo at this time of year because the for and against are close together, WCE lose by 42 and lose 15%, lose by 42 in round 15 and you are only losing 3 or 4% depending on your for and aga..........worry about percentage at the halfway mark.
But at the halfway mark it would already be a problem. I want us to address it before it becomes a problem because it is easy to gain a lot of percentage early on.

As I mentioned earlier, it is good for the mental game to see a high percentage.
Anyway, if our percentage is still below 100% by the end of Round 8 then we either have lost a game or two comfortably or scraped through almost of our games. The latter is a sign that a team is struggling and I don’t want us to be the team who falls over the line every week because those teams are generally not the ones to win the Premiership.

Here’s my full view on it
P1 is the win. There’s no point have the best percentage in the league and 10 wins.
Percentage is something we should be looking to when we’ve got the game in the bag. Basically do what we did last year until we had too wrapped up. But I don’t reckon it should be a priority prior to the game. When you have that on your mind the little things that make you good don’t happen. And especially this week given the 4 day break, if we get into a position where we have the game won early (and of course that is a big if), I wouldn’t mind if we coasted home to conserve a bit.

I still angered about the ridiculous goal shepherding free paid against Richo v Sydney at VFL park in the 90's that cost us the game.

Single most worst decision I've ever seen. That game damaged me. I now have issues.

I definitely don’t mind it if we conserve energy for the Melbourne game today, which is why I don’t think we need to put it in our mind just yet. Once we get to the Bulldogs game and onwards though, I want us to start thinking about both wins and making inroads with our percentage equally. Riewoldt would probably be back by then and Cotchin may be a good chance to be back too.

I loved what we did last year. In rounds 4-7 we gained a points differential of +259, making our percentage jump up 101.0% to 141.6% and then maintained that percentage throughout the year to finish 1st in percentage. I actually also liked what we did in 2017, but our percentage was not sub 100% at any stage that year. I just want us to replicate what worked for us, and rectifying a sub-100 percentage early on in the season worked for us last year. Playing catch-ups like 2014-2016 has just not worked for us and I don’t want us replicating any of those seasons.

What about when Rance got done for holding the ball and was then set on by a pack of dogs and when Grimes comes in to help it was 50m their way. I was angry again last night, and now I'm angry again.... Sydney, no respect.

How heavy will the melts be if we lose to Shitney ?
It should be a game we win in my opinion given the form that they are in so you’ll probably see some melts. I think Richmond will win comfortably by around 20+ points though. Richmond are pretty reliable when they are expected to win comfortably.

I've got a feeling if we are 4 goals up a 3/4 time we ease off a bit the last quarter due to the 4 day break.

Someone mentioned on one of the Richmond supporter website that SEN said that Lynch is not playing tonight. Has anyone heard this?

Could be his knee again...that enormous big run down the wing against Port!

Agree to disagree because I still think percentage is important. It has burned us way too many times in the past for me to not keep an eye on it. It also indicates how good a team’s performance is for the season. There is a reason why Western Bulldogs are the only side in the last 20 years that won a Premiership with a percentage outside of the top 4.

Our youth brought in from the VFL have the drive to smash teams so I believe that we will make up the percentage. However, we should not just ignore it until our stars come back because we are in a competition and the competition doesn’t care whether you have injuries or not. They’ll just continue to improve their percentage.

I believe our youth are capable to take care of our percentage as well as the wins so that is the reason why I hope they address it soon.
I agree with the point you make about percentage, a few of the analytic sites have us finishing 5th, though there’s only one game and percentage between 5th and 10th

Hey all.
Thinking of taking the kids and wife to the game.
Given its a home game, can I just scan in?
I'm on the Richmond Account Manager and yeah I dont know where to print out the tix.
In fact i dont even known what im doing.

this 100%
What about the 50 earlier in the quarter, when rance was holding the ball
On the boundarie line, 3 swans players jump on him ,grimes comes in and pushes one the little darling over and it's 50

CCJ an in off the Emergencies - wonder who's out? Lynch like suggested earlier? Read this on FanFooty, but could be a mistake though because whilst listed as an IN, he's not listed in any position.

It’s FanFooty’s weird way of listing teams. It means he wasn’t on the emergencies last week and is now. They have a bloke named for Sydney who is exactly the same.
