The Cats recruitment of Gary Rohan, Tom Atkins and Luke Dahlhaus + playing Gryan Miers regularly has really cleaned up a weakness of theirs, great recruiting by the Cats as usual. The drafting of Jordan Clark was also a masterstroke.

Not sure about Rohan. I think he's ok in a strong team but absolutely woeful in a stuggling team. Dalhaus has lifted though and Clark is a gun.

I think Rohan has benefited from being given a very clearly defined role in their side ie. forward pressure and then the rest of his game follows plus of course a healthy body...fingers crossed.

I think his body being closer to fully right helps too.

And I couldn't do it......I REALLY REALLY tried to tip Port against North this week.....

But, my love of hate was just too strong :P

Dylan Shiel being employed part-time by an essendon fan: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...y/news-story/1f573f050ebb9f56dc0ea785e088932e

Completely ticked off and given the ok by the AFL though, so its all good and isn't salary cap rorting!

I very much doubt there was any formal arrangement between Casey and Shiel prior to the latter joining the Dons.

But at the same time I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dodoro had mentioned to Shiel and his management that the club had some powerful and wealthy friends who are always keen to help out Bomber players and staff, such as Mark Casey.

This is tricky. You don't want to deny players the opportunity to use their networks to transition into life post footy but there's clearly a giant difference between the networks some clubs offer compared to others. Maybe the AFL can't crack down on instances like this but it'd be great if we could acknowledge that the salary cap only goes so far to evening up the league. Even better if we could do something about it.

Looking forward to the game tonight in a macabre sort of way, if the Demons get flogged again look out for the media feeding frenzy and the supporter base meltdown.

But they had a good year last year, what did they think was going to happen this year?
