Stack spread eagled on the turf, feeds the ball out Higgins quick hands to Baker kicks to Balta on a lead - marks, goals!

That was a pretty sweet eye to the future in that 2nd quarter and with Jack Ross give me a window to a future which will one day have to exclude the great Jack, Rance, Cotch and Dusty.

So, who is your favourite emerging player and why?

Needs more Bolton!
Love them all and kudos to our recruiters. The fact that our reserves are winning despite having these guys up in the 1s is joyful.

stack is a steal. Looks a beauty. Normally when the ball heads to a pressure situation and you see a first year player there, the old heart enters ones mouth. Not with Sydney. Oozes confidence and composure.

Like the old days going to Blockbuster and trying to pick a movie to rent.

I'll pick Stack, noone wanted him,Dimma took him in and now looking every bit first round draft material.

1.Noah Balta
2. Sydney Stack
3.Riley Collier Dawkins
4.Jack Higgins
5.Jack Ross
6.Shai Bolton
7.Callum Coleman Jones
8.Fraser Turner
9.Patrick Naish
10.Ryan Garthwaite
11. Liam Baker

12. Mabior Chol ( I have a soft spot for this bloke and would be most excited if he actually ends up making it)

Sstack for me

Balta will be delicious in the future as well as the others, but Sstack is just great to watch. You don't often see a first year player play like he does, the brutality and going in really hard. Even the good first year players that get hyped up and in rising star contention are usually soft and avoid the tough contests a lot for a couple years

Based on potential I’d go:

1. Noah Balta
2. Sydney Stack
3. Riley Collier-Dawkins
4. Jack Ross
5. Jack Higgins
6. Shai Bolton
7. Callum Coleman-Jones
8. Liam Baker
9. Jack Graham
10. Ryan Garthwaite
11. Patrick Naish
12. Fraser Turner
13. Luke English
14. Ben Miller

Can I say all of the above plus Jack Graham and Shai Bolton and Ryan Garthwaite and whoever else we haven’t seen in the seniors yet?

We have a great bunch of kids coming through and I look forward to seeing hopefully all of them do well for us in the future.

The energy our young players have brought into this team is amazing. I think we win against Melbourne because of the young guys, not the veterans.

I loved the work of Shai Bolton on the weekend - he didn't get a huge number of touches, he made a few mistakes, but he was running to the right spots. He *wanted* the football in his hands. Clearly an upgrade on Butler.

Sign me up for the Sydney Stack fan club. Incredible composure and hardness at the footy for such a young lad. Has quickly overtaken others who were being prepared for a spot at half-back.

Noah Balta. Big enough to play 2nd ruck or a key position, fast enough to play on the wing, huge kick. That's an exciting mix and will cause opposition coaches a nightmare on their matchups.

Stack.
His mark in the last quarter against Port without any regard for his safety. Wow.
Looks like he has played 50 games already.

Sydney Stack-Can't help but be impressed.Tracking to be the best 1st yr since Cotch.
CCJ-Big fan of this kid.
Ross-Like Stack,Looks like he belongs.
Balta-So raw it's not funny,But the potential is sky high.
Garth-Our backline is in safe hands with Garth.

Strong tall robust players who have the ability to take contested grabs and accelerate with electrifying pace are bloody hard to find.
Balta fits that mould.
Ross will peak before him, but in 2-3 years this kid will be sitting on blokes heads then running 50m to slot one.
Exciting.
