I will be emailing the club if all we hear this week are crickets.

We deserve an explanation.
Do you expect a response? If they can't see what the problems are, heaven help us!

What pisses me off about the weekend as well is the fact the reserves have had the week off.

Less chance for those below to push their case.

As a dad you have kick to kick with your kids and kids unconsciously imprint. My kids have reasonable hand eye but can't kick for shit just like their dad....they play soccer...

Kicking is a learnt skill that can be improved at a young age with some fairly simple techniques.

My son is 8 and can kick both feet about 20 mts. At his age he doesn’t have the size to get the ball drop completely correct but will come in time if he persists.

Of course you take traits from your parents but that doesn’t mean if you r father is a shite kick you can’t be Good one.

Dunkley Snr was a horrible looking kick but knew his limitations and on his day pin point accuracy wasn’t a pivotal part of the game

Not only did Dunkley Snr know his limitations but so did Sydney and they acommodated him well. There was always a handball on to a player or an easy option for him.

We don’t know what Dunkley Jnr is a midfielder? Forward? Ruckman? Jnr is a victim of some flexibility mantra that our club is dead set on.

To say what exactly? You really need them to come out and say we were rubbish?

No, just to have the balls to front up and answer the hard questions. Don't hide away until Friday and then brush off last week like it didn't happen. I don't want the coach to explain himself to us, I just want to hear something from the club. We are non existent in the media and that's why Barrett and the like are able to kick our heads off at every opportunity, because we don't fight back. Bit like what we're like on field right now.

Beveridge presser: "We need to add some players who can help that core group of midfielders so we gave a couple of the boys an opportunity (Gowers and Williams)"

Just wondering how many core midfielders one team actually needs, and how many more non-mids playing mid roles and mids playing non-mid roles does it take to constitute a real premo Bevo squad? Josh Dunkley took 3 centre bounces out of 25 as a mid, zero until the last quarter. Maybe this inside midfielder can help that core group of inside midfielders? McLean attended ZERO centre bounces. Libba, our best contested player, took 52%!

Also, maybe Gowers can attend centre bounces in the VFL and learn how to do it there.

Beveridge will say what he needs to say behind closed doors to the players. Footy clubs don't have to explain themselves to self entitled supporters.

If they want our support they owe us an apology/explanation. I'll be withdrawing my support until the club provides it and I hope others do the same. If I'm going to spend my money and time supporting a club then I expect to get something in return. If you call that entitled so be it but in my mind it's just how any relationship works in a capitalist world.

Comrade please. I spit on your capitalist ideals.

As many know I have alway believed we will finish bottom 4-6 this year but that is 90% due to coaching.

We have the basis of a decent backline, a very competitive midfield and a useless forward line but some pieces are there. This can be fixed very quickly if the club is prepared to do some brave trade and FA moves. The real list issue is depth coz from half way it really isn’t good enough.

The fix is clear and evident. We need a complete coaching staff overhaul and new blood and ideas brought in at years end. A director of football that has the balls to stand up to Bev and Bev needs to be told to coach and not try and run the club. Too many people have left now due to “issues” that involve Bev for it not to hold some truth.

Accept we are in a complete rebuild and start again with Bev having one more year to show something or move him on. He looks a defeated man with very few ideas at present. 5 weeks in and you can see it’s already got him.

Don’t disagree with you but a good start would be try play players in one position and teach them to play that position.

Too many of our players close to all don’t know if they are Arthur or Martha.
We are going down a path of Jack of all trades and masters of nothing.

I absolutely loved Chris Grant as a player, he is the one guy at our club that has made me happiest in all my time, nearly 40 years of following the Dogs. However, he is current director of football and a lot of this is on his watch. It’s time to replace him. We need CHANGE this club and a lot of it!

It’s ****ing odd. He spent much of the later part of last season developing with some success a couple of second tier inside mids to give the Bont and Macrae a chop out in Dunkley and McLean and what does has he done for much of the season other than the no brainer of adding libba to the mix (outside yesterdays unbelievable fist qtr)? He chooses not to play them there in preference for the likes of Wallis and now incredibly Gowers. Who by any reckoning is a mark/kick old style forward with little aptitude for contested ground balls let alone having an understanding of what is needed to play stoppages.

Honestly if Gowers ever sees another minute in the midfield, Bevo is just proving how stubborn he is. Blind Freddy can see that Gowers has none of the tools to be a good mid, even as a chop out.

It's possible they wanted to test Williams and Gowers (unassisted) at stoppages in a sink or swim lets find out now sort of way. But that seems unlikely. There has to be more to it and that could be that Libba and Dunks and others were battered and sore from previous workload and/or crook. If they are and others are crook then Bevo probably isn't going to say so so as not to be seen as offering an excuse this week or giving next weeks opposition any sort of insight.

There is no logical footy reason for Libba and Dunks not to be significantly involved in first qtr stoppages.

Anywho, I think naughts and Cordy should swap. I'd like to see Cordy's natural aggression and willingness/desire to hurt people unleashed in the fwd line for a bit just to change things up and add a bit of an edge. Also a wood and naughts combo seems is a little more powerful than a wood cordy combo down back.

I believe that would happen with different and stronger assistant coaching.

It’s like we run a “boys club” with jobs for all the boys.

I think it’s coz we can get guy such as Grant, Powers, Smith and Gia for a lot less than external people far more qualified but more expensive.

We have redirected funds to “other” projects and as I feared I believe this is hurting the men’s coaching total spend.

Our assistant coaching group would have to be the least qualified and cheapest pay salary in the league by a fair margin

Yes. We continue to be unprofessional compared to other clubs. Not much changes at our club. They wouldn’t know how to drive a Ferrari if they had one!

I actually think you are Peter Gordon.

Need to get rid of the flexibility crap. Too many players get picked every week that aren’t good enough to be picked in their preferred postion so Beveridge picks them anyway and then tries to find a spot for them, then wonders why our forward line is so dysfunctional and then add to that the constant baffling lack of selection of talls.

Keep it simple pick your best two kpd and best 4 mid-small defenders. Pick your best ruck and best 5-6 midfielders (can have 1 rotate forward at most) then pick your best kpf and either second best kpf or ruck/forward and 2-3 natural forwards. Then you use your bench to stock up on mids or have your flexibility mantra crap.

Beveridge seems to fail to realise that having flexibility in a player is for plan b if things are going wrong it’s not a plan A ffs

I shut my eyes every time dunkley has a kick. I've got no idea how that ball drop wasn't corrected at a very early age.

Can't see how Dunkley could ever be a successful AFL footballer with that technique. Gowers the same.

I'd rather give guys like Lipinski, Williams, Lynch, Greene etc a go ahead of these guys as they at least are effective when they get it.
