Yeh, not sure I trust him keeping it up all year but he's in good form at the moment. Could be worth it as a cheeky POD.

Feeling like it’s too stacked atm so with the couple of people considering trading Libba this round it has also got me thinking...

Duursma > Hayes (DPP Stack to Def)
Libba > Hately (Bump Constable to M8)

Leaves me with $745k for next week for a restructure and two rookies who’s scoring potential looks good

I’ll obviously be sacrificing points this round (doubling down instead of going one up one down) but it’ll allow for a double uber upgrade next week which will benefit me in the long run. Something along the lines of;
Scrimshaw > Whitfield
Rozee > Boak

Is this crazy?

Not sure i would just trust Constable that easily. Cant you just do the upgrade this week if you really want to? I would just keep Libba. He has a bit more money to make and is scoring fine

Roll on Rd 6 - Rd 5 was a horror.

The season started well; well enough anyway. Took a few hits, but held my distance from the leaders until Rd 5.

Was going Setterfield -> Billings all last week but then decided on a double downgrade. Having Billings' score would have been handy but my reasoning was sound, I think. I thought I would save my new found wealth for when the additional DPP's are available. Better choice, more uniques.

Sheed to Ross was ok. Hately would have been better and probably better JS too. The problem was Setterfield to Bolton. The choice was he and Baker. Which ever one scored/played best would also have better JS. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong one.

I thought Bolton would have more room to move in and Baker would be stuck deep forward. Unfortunately, for Fantasy reasons, Baker was everywhere. In personal terms, I'm rapt for him. I've said it before on a number of boards: so cool, so clean and puts others in better positions. A very clever footballer. Good luck to him.

So Bolton scores 42 (very unlucky, but will be back, sometime) and is now dropped. Great!

And my double upgrade this week begins with having to replace Milera. As I said on the weekend - there was plenty of guys who could have got injured on 43 and it wouldn't have mattered a lot, but losing your uniques just kill you. Instead of gaining two premiums/keepers; in nett terms, I only gain one.

So, I dropped 5000 places to 8000+ and fall back a couple of hundred points. Very disappointing.

In case anyone is interested I had a very rough look, because I couldn't be bothered scrolling for two hours, at how many points down various ranks are. Ranks 5000+ are approximate. Anyone wanting to add accurate numbers I would be interested to see it.

Would be great if all rankings were downloadable on a spreadsheet. I think people probably get demoralised and make rash decisions when their ranking looks bad but if the info was readily available we would see that it's not as bad as it seems and it doesn't take a lot to jump in rank. Only 50 points between 5000 and 8500 (approx) shows that.

It was more so to grab Hayes and Hately before their next price rise. But I think I’ll play it safe and do one upgrade this week. All it takes is one injury to throw the plans out

As a Crisp owner, it's just not worth it. He tonned up last week which means I have to keep him but don't really want to, I just know he will spud up this week. Crisp is capable of 40s FFS, you just can't be paying up for that. If he tons up again this week, maybe consider it then.

Yeah that's fair. If I'm going to be trading someone like Clark or Scrimshaw up to a 'premium' I want their low scores to be close to what would be considered a good score for either Clark or Scrimshaw. Having a premium player get 40s is concerning unless injured.

Would love to get to just having Walsh/Constable has the rookies ASAP

If Dusty replicated last year (average 92) would that still be suitable for a top 6 forward ?

Can anyone who follows Sydney closely tell me what's changed with Cunningham? I'm looking for a defender under 617k so was looking at Daniel or Jones and then saw his scores and wondered where it's come from and how sustainable it is.

Had the first look at my bye structure tonight and was quite shocked to see its nearly perfect at 9/10/11. Very happy with that at the moment especially if I keep all my bench playing.

Rule #1

Its all about cash generation at this point. If he and O'Brien are over 500k come bye rounds, thats a massive win.

Boak moves into F1 with Danger, Billings, Kelly & Warpole. That means Petrol/Parker/Drew will fight it out for F6.

It is a little sideways but much more security.

Preuss out now - what's the next plan??

Is Constable fat enough to trade? or will people be holding. I got Hayes, Hatley & if I were to trade I'd be adding in Stack. So that's 3 interchangeable M8's. Gives a bit of cash doing this.

Think you should be going Walsh and Constable to premos if possible.

Was thinking Hayes and a forward upgrade, but given uncertainty around teams and Port have North I'll bring in Baker then see what's left with full teams.
Bolsters the forward rookies which are looking grim at the moment (Parker, Burgess, Balta!).

Any Hawks fans have thoughts on Lewis? I thought he looked good yesterday, even though he only got to 50 or so. I feel like he could be a good cheaper option, especially as I'm considering a double downgrade this week, but looking at Hately for one spot, who is obviously costly.

I saw your post kraka (am I tagging him them* correctly? I think I am not); were you making the fitness comment just based on what you saw in game, or is it a known issue? Any extra info would be grand!

Targets for next week and beyond will be Laird, Gawn, Merrett. (I did some creative things with my rucks early on. It was bad.)

I might even post a picture of my team soon...but it's hard not to feel slightly ashamed.

You may very well be right re Hately. You may be wrong. You may be crazy. The reason I like him is he can score as a junior, from various sources he can play the game called footy, and he lined up on the wing running through the mids for the giants. He has scoring role and with ward out may be a chance to make it his. Backing him in for that reason.

Isn't Walsh's breakeven still around 20 or so? And he's scoring hundreds? He's gotta have a few more weeks in him, surely. And with Constable's BE I'd certainly (well, I mean, I _am_ certainly) give (giving) him one more week to see if he's back in. I wouldn't be totally shocked if Scott gave him another week off, but I think he's probably an 80% chance to be straight back in. (Parfitt [inj.] and Clark [managed] out, Constable and Tuohy in?)

Milera obviously has to go. I’m set on dumping parker too. Sick of his 40s stinking up my forward line.

DPP’s means I can get premiums in pretty much any position.

Would really love Merrett but that would leave Walsh at M8 and guys like constable on the bench which feels like a waste.

My ranking is pretty much shot so I wouldn’t mind just having a bit of fun and taking some risks - which is why I like the look of Cunningham or Sheppard or Johanissen over someone like Laird.

Who would you guys take out of those defenders?

As far as rookies go I don’t have Ross or Hayes or even Lockhart so would look to bring in one of them, probably Hayes at the moment

Sorry I mean don’t downgrade them. Hold until it’s time to upgrade to a premo. Don’t guess on new rookies.
