Wasn't there reports of Marcus Adams requiring more work done on his knee ruling him out for a longer period? Latest injury list on afl.com has him as 1 week away.

Marcus Adams Knee 1 week.
Harris Andrews Hamstring 1-2 weeks.
Zac Bailey Hamstring 1-2 weeks.
Rhys Mathieson Hamstring 1-2 weeks.
Brandon Starcevich Hamstring 4 weeks.

Zorks is funny this year - I've been trying to decide if he's down on form, doing things differently or just learning to adapt to a slightly different role. He hasn't been terrible, but he also hasn't set the world on fire yet.

I'd hazard it mostly a combination of the last 2 points, not so much the first one. But I agree jackess - any time Neale is getting tagged out of a game, we'll need Zorko to step up and shoulder some heavy lifting, which I think he's still pretty capable of doing.

Tackling beast this year. Leading our tackles by 8 through Round 5.

Our medical team works wonders Jason. All those time lines look greatly diminished. It's a miracle. Who do you actually think brought Lazarus back from the dead? I know a popular books says it was Jesus, but nuh uh, it was actually the Lions physios & medicos. Sorry Israel Folau, Gary Ablett Jr & that Kennedy dude that no one really cares about, it was the Lions Medicos.

But seriously though, if we have everyone bar Starcevich available (yes I know more injuries will come), for senior selection within 4 weeks. Happy days. We've seen how the team has pulled the right reigns with picking Neale & McCarthy, can't wait to see what Adams can bring to the mix.

Fox footy power rankings: https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/la...9/news-story/12880397d01d2ff0965b06334a6072a1

10. Brisbane Lions (3-2, 94%)
Last week: 7
Average ranking: 10.5
The Lions need to hit the brakes. They’ve been terrible starters all season and their pressure has been woeful - not something you’d expect from a team with so many impressive smalls. Thankfully for them the fixture opens up from here. Up next is the Pineapple Grapple, and the Lions should still be favoured against the Suns, while after that it’s Sydney, the Western Bulldogs, Adelaide, Fremantle, Hawthorn and Carlton before the bye. Every game on that list is winnable. Now, they’ll obviously drop some, but it’s not out of the realms of possibility for the Lions to be 8-4 or 9-3 at the end of that run. It’s hard to miss finals from there.
Next week: Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium, Saturday early

After years of online bullying, AFL footballer Josh Green is happy hanging up his boots

https://www.abc.net.au/life/afl-foo...ecilia-mcintosh-talk-online-bullying/11023826

One player who won't be running out in Essendon's famous red and black guernsey is Josh Green, a small forward who retired from professional football at the end of 2018.

The experience of playing on Anzac Day, Green says, can't be put in words. He was lucky enough to play in the fabled match twice, and he'll cherish the memories for the rest of his life.

But there are many things about football he won't miss, like the scrutiny, the constant pressure to perform and the ongoing trolling and abuse he received on social media.

"A lot of people were talking about [my weight], and I didn't want to talk about it. I started to have self-confidence issues, and [issues with my] eating. It really rocked me for a bit," he says.

The mud stuck. For the rest of his career, he was tagged in tweets and Facebook comments — and sent direct messages on Instagram — calling him "fat" and "slow".

While at Brisbane, Josh was eventually diagnosed with severe anxiety and received treatment. It wasn't something he told many people about at the time.

I always hated the food jibes around Josh at the time. I hope there are many people who read this who feel remorseful for things that they've written online, not only about Josh, but other sportspeople. What you say and write does have an effect on some people. Have an ounce of humanity and think before you speak.

I fully admit to questioning his team ethos when we was with us, but I think there's a line about what you have the right to criticise and how you go about it.

There was a tweet saying he's "might need to" go back in, which I took to be the journo having his bet each way. Looks like it.

Wow, Jon Ralph could have got something wrong. My faith in the media is irrevocably shaken :'(

Banjo Patterson said something like “it was just a harmless joke. A trifle overdone!” To find the full impact of a “harmless” joke read The Man from Ironbark. I for one had a bit of fun at Josh’s expense from time to time. “I am sorry for it now.”

I will always remember Greeny for his role in the West coast game 2012.
The super sub came on and collected 3 goals, very exiting player at times.

Reading that made me feel bad, I have made the odd "subway" reference in the past. I will try to be less flippant/jokey when it comes to situations like this in the future and leave my critiquing to football ability matters.

Just listening to the Coaches report from Zane Littlejohn on the 2s got me thinking.......is Murray Davis still on our coaching board as he regularly did such reports on the 1s n I haven't sighted him this season???????

It's not relevant NOW, but it was being discussed elsewhere, so I'm going to leave this here for when (if) people start jumping on Cam being too big.

Tom Mitchell - 182cm/84kg
Trent Cotchin - 185cm/86kg
Dustin Martin - 187cm/92kg
Paddy Cripps - 195cm/92kg

Cam is listed at 187cm/90kg (but I think he has said elsewhere that he is about 91-92kg)

Players at the club were doing it to him too, going off comments I heard at one of the players' sponsors events by one of the senior players at the time.

Anyone know which player ran the Josh Green Insider Instagram?

I always suspected Bewick but I’m only guessing.

Some of current players were having a go at Cam Rayner re his weight/eating habits on a recent video on lions.com, hopefully Cam takes it as light hearted banter which I thought it was.

Couple of questions

Where does Fullarton hail from?

Does anyone know how much weight Hipwood has gained since last season? Looks more ripped and throwing his weight around much more than he has before

Nine things we learned
9. Brisbane's recruiters got it spot on
While the Lions have largely gone about their rebuild by picking up high-end talent through the national draft – think McCluggage, Rayner, Berry and Witherden –the club's recruiting team deserves a huge pat on the back for adding the perfect blend of mature talent. In Saturday's win over Gold Coast, arguably the four best players on the ground have all previously played elsewhere. Mitch Robinson continued a stellar start to 2019 by winning the Marcus Ashcroft Medal, but it could have easily gone to either Lachie Neale or Jarryd Lyons for their influential roles. Then there was Charlie Cameron, down the past two weeks but back to his best with 21 disposals and two goals. Whether it was picking up players other clubs didn't want in Robinson and Lyons or eyeing off players they thought would fit the club's trajectory like Neale and Cameron, the Lions have done a fantastic job in identifying players that could help their climb. And they're probably not done yet. Mike Whiting

Wonder if Whiting knows something re the bolded?

My guess is probably not. I reckon it's based on a the reasonable assumption that there are gaps in the team that could be filled by drafting senior talent, given that the club is likely to start opening the premiership window in the next few years.

Hey guys, random question: How good is Answerth's job security? Likely to drop back out of the side anytime soon?

I bloody hope not, I just traded him into my fantasy team. I’d say he will stay in next week. However, he will be competing against Cutler and Taylor to see who gets dropped when Bailey comes back in.

Could be that player Robbo is supposedly trying to get here.

Might see Hodge taken out for a rest/just taken out of the side so we can have Anesworth and Bailey in there. Would have some more options with those two back there at the same time. Would obviously depend on if Anesworth can hold his ground next week though.

One of the smartest things Fagan has done this year is really focus on starting the season well. If he didn't do this I fear we would have been 1-5 and season over.
