my biggest complaint out of the whole avengers era was how underpowered SW has been, so I absolutely loved seeing her almost take him down Thanos by herself...almost ripping him apart was brilliant

Also felt that Dr Strange has been de powered a lot too...you could see the potential in Thor 3 for how effective he is ...but I completely understand why they were underpowered

Cap being OP with mjolnir was a nice twist, but does add confusion as to why Thor with both Stormbreaker and mjolnir didn’t wipe the floor with Thanos...it shouldn’t be the case that because he’s unfit and overweight he’s underpowered ...powers are powers and weapons are weapons

Overall just a near perfect film for me

[/Spoilers]

I could see what they were doing with Thor and making him seem a little broken (so I was ok with it)....hence letting himself go, putting on weight etc etc..... but the man is a God like figure if not an actual god. I feel his strength and muscular form are givens rather than built through daily work outs in an Asgardian gym. I'm just not sure I see the beer gut really happening even in his depressed state. Minor gripe. No biggie.

Classic movie. A real epic and Marvel have certainly done it again. It’s actually amazing what they have done for these stories and cinema.

Thinking I’ll make a return to this over the weekend.

The first 3 minutes hit me in the guts and from that point on the emotions slowly snowballed to a point where I was grinning like the Cheshire Cat by the final act.

Loved the Lebowski call. I seemed to the only person in the cinema I was in old enough to get it though. :(

So many great moments in this movie though. So many great lines and scenes that others have reminded me of while reading this thread.

Paltrow is the female equaivalent to Tom Cruise for mine, so I was really hoping she’d take a bullet(laser beam) for Tony and disappear from the MCU.

I wasn’t a fan of the Banner/Hulk, trans. I feel that by killing his erratic a aggressive side they really dulled the character.

Was anyone else watching the gamma move it’s way up Banners arm as he wore the gauntlet thinking “holy shit, we’re about to see a Red Hulk!?!”.

When the cannons raised their aim to the clouds and Carol came through, I was just about out of my seat.

Scott Lang reuniting with his daughter after all those years....”who’s cutting onions!!”

Agree with others that the work of Karen Gillian as Nebula was top notch.

I guess we all assume that there’s going to be an Iron boy movie soon with Harley Keener donning the suit.

Still looking for the link to the GotG 2 cut scene - I was waiting for a surprise Adam Warlock to impose himself into endgame.

agreed, yes it’s minor overall however still relevant to discuss.

Thor’s the King of Asgard, and is still the most powerful of them (along with Danvers). He can summon the bifrost with Stormbreaker, and should’ve done as he pleased to Thanos (and the BO even).

Despite Thanos’ power, he was still gettable without the stones. He dispatched Thor and Tony too easily in that 3 on 1 for my liking. Ideally that battle should have lasted a bit longer, which is not something too often said in a 3 hour movie :D

Overall loved it. Probably sits as an 8/10 for me.

Would score higher but it definitely felt like a 3 hour movie given the pacing of it and I have a few minor gripes:

* Agree with what others have said about under and over powered characters. Thor should have decimated a stoneless Thanos. Cap did too much damage (even with the hammer). Strange should have been more useful (spent the whole fight holding water back FFS). Danvers was about right though. If I recall correctly she only fought Thanos when he had the stones and it was pretty even.

* The second act definitely dragged a fair bit. Plenty of nice moments in there but probably could have used a touch more action to spice it up.

* The all women part would have been nice...if it happened organically. Instead they all joined from totally separate parts of the battlefield when most of them had no way of communicating with each other (or even knowing each other).

* I'm going to need to do some reading up on how this time travel was supposed to work because I feel like it's full of plot holes (I might be wrong, hence I need to read some articles)

* I wanted a few more characters to die. It's getting pretty overcrowded in the MCU right now. Could have killed any of Clint, Sam, Bucky, Rhodey or a few others for some added impact.

yeah saw that it was him

I personally think his character will be set up as Richard reeds but I don’t think it’ll be done by this actor

Time will tell

thinking about this further, it wouldn’t make sense to do that. Cameos like this are all done purposely with Marvel, I 100% believe they’ve placed Keener in here to set up a future Iron Man.

I also think Reed is somewhat inevitable, but will be introduced separately.

Really enjoyed it, feels like a proper pay off for the MCU.

Speaking of de-powering, did they de-power the infinity stones?

To start with no one could even hold one without something acting as a buffer, or being super-powered in some way, but in Endgame we see humans handling them multiple times.

They set it up that only the special infinity gauntlet forged by Etri could handle all of them, and then Stark reverse enginers a replacement. And I didn't think Stark should have been able to use the gauntlet even with the consequences.

Among a billion call backs and easter egggs I loved that Stark's final line in the MCU is I am Iron Man. I always felt that line was when you really knew the MCU was going to do things differently.

Really enjoyable denouement. Agree with much of what was stated above.

Cap with Thor’s hammer the highlight amongst many.
Thanks for those naming the kid from Iron Man 3 as the only one I couldn’t name at then end.
Surprised no one has mentioned- while there no end credit scene there is an end credit audio of hammering of metal, which is what I presume to be Stark making is first suit, bookending the very start and the very end nicely.

Got to see it at Marion at the 9:30am session this morning. Love being on leave and my son on school hols :)

No spoilers, but it was incredible! Perfect ending. Loved every minute and it went by so quickly

Only ruining part for me were the 3 teens 2 rows behind me and my son who decided it would be great to talk through every part of the film in the first half (as well as saying stuff like "Why is everyone laughing, it wasn't even funny" during some one liners etc) So i kept turning my head (there was no one between us) as if to say "shut up" so they started trowing popcorn at me and my son....

They hit me twice and the 2nd time they got me, i jumped out of my seat and got in their faces and told them to calm the **** down and that everyone was just trying to enjoy the experience. The one i confronted very quickly turned on his mate and said "he was the one throwing the popcorn, i told him to stop" and i said that they better and went back to my seat

Didn't hear much out of them after that.....

But brilliant film. Thoroughly enjoyable. You won't be disappointed!

Just a large family with at least 2 babies and another 4-5 toddler age kids ruining the quiet scenes in ours. And someone's phone going off right near the end. What a twat.

Have had a few hours to gather my emotions and thoughts.

Going back to battle of NY, loved the alternate angles shot from other viewpoints. Seeing the baldie shooting down invaders from the rooftop made me think why didnt she or her crew get more involved.

what of loki? he disappeared with the cube?

like infinity war, scar jo, michionne and scar witch joined forces it was a nod to the #metoo movement. And this brought powerful, independent women together again. This definitely makes some people uncomfortable.

Tony went back in time and conveniently saw his father. No security was summoned which was odd. Their heart to heart foreshadowed tonys death
Tony asking strange about the 1/1400000 chance of winning, strange replying he couldnt tell him as it would therefore not happened.....foreshadowed tonys death
Tony originally saying no to the team due to priorities in life with family, foreshadowed his death.

The final battle.....a lot going on and i wanted more. More individualised scenes. appreciate its hard to do with so many characters. I hope game of thrones gives more time to personal fights.

Tony and nubula making it to earth seemed quick. but ok. The stark vs rogers meeting was tense. stark looked sick.

all the speeches and lines by scar jo in the trailers indicated she was going to die (foreshadowing). But her scene of death was nevertheless sad

scar jos shooting practice scene in trailer was not in it.

i wouldve liked to have seen something following on from Cap Marvels post credits scene. A real introduction of she to the team.

when stark did the click, how did he control who was going to die?

I’m assuming the snap is all mental I.e asking the stones what you want [spoilers]

Yep it's 100% that. It isn't a magic glove of stones that randomly kills half the population. The collection of stones essentially gives power to whatever you want to happen.

Hence when Hulk/Banner clicked to bring everybody back from 5 years ago to current day they were pressing the importance that he concentrated specifically of exactly what they wanted to happen. As Tony wanted to keep the family he'd built since then and not have that disappear.

So when Tony snapped I assume he's thinking "kill Thanos and every other one of his campaigners here who's fighting alongside him" or something to that affect.
