Such an odd season. Have had a lot of bad luck and now just looking forward to the end of next week when my team will be where I want it to be for the meantime, and I can actually start (hopefully) enjoying the season and prepping for the byes

Should look something like this (or similar)

DEF: Lloyd, Whitfield, Laird, Smith, Williams, Hore (Wilkie, Scrimshaw)
MID: Danger, Treloar, Brayshaw, Rocky, Brouch, Walsh, Constable, Ross (Atkins, Hayes)

Have gone with the strategy of making sure my mid rooks are last, as fwd and backs are all over the shop with their scoring, and mid rooks are pretty solid. Will bring in Blakely in Week 9, if available and going well, which leaves only 2 mid spots in Ross and Constable (Walsh is a premo now) to fill. Should be able to do that during the byes, and upgrade Mummy to Grundy as well, with small upgrades of Williams or Smith being the last piece of the puzzle. Of course the fantasy gods could send this all to hell (as they have done a few times this season already), but I'm sure that's meant be part of the fun...*cough*

How are others going with their planning?

I dont really have a plan per se but similar principle to you in that I'm looking to improve my defence and forwards first. even though its tempting to go say a taranto to a neale/macrae I'm gonna sit on all of my mids because the rookies are great. But it's still a long wait until I can upgrade those defender rookies like hore and mid priced in smith/Williams.

also I think constable needs more credit here. I plan on playing him all the way until my very last trade. I rate him higher than libba. maybe not on averages just yet but I trust him so much more.

Anybody got the BE’s of Rozee and Duursma before last nights game?

Duursma was my trade down target and Rozee my upgrade target for next week, but may have to rethink my strategy if it looks like they will have a bit of a boost in money making over the next few weeks.

Cheers. Might have to look at making minimal cash on Burgess and finally moving on Dunkley to a value defender via Rozee into the forward line seeing Drew is my only on field rookie up there.

I guess I’m one of the few that love the VC option. Have nailed it 5/6 weeks. And last weeks failure the only 120+ scores in my side were Witts, Telly and Lloyd and I’d never captain any of them.

Nah this is a common misconception, as people think that the score they missed out on is doubled.

Simply put, these are the two scenarios (if you have both players)

107 x 2 = 214 + 123 = 337

or

123 x 2 = 246 + 107 = 353

You're still getting one of those 123 scores and one of those 107 scores, you're just missing out on the difference between the 'double up' score of 107 vs 123

-16 points for me hurts me this round, from 12th to maybe 8th was only 30 points

I think I’m at 978/9 + VC.

Scrimshaw and Walsh only true rookie picks left, although one is debatable...

1100 (10) + C. Hopefully can have a big week and push towards 2300 with my rookies firing this week in Duursma and Rozee. So far every premo has hit the ton so let’s hope that continues today with some big scores!

I always say I prefer having the VC, however I’ve only used it once so far this year and decided to take more gambles with my C this year. But no doubt will get harder the further we go.
