I think in this Hately / Hinge debate don’t forget the crows are in a period where they are trying to develop players. If you’re picking a side for a final this week maybe Hinge better balances your side. But with an eye on development you would have to say Hately has earned a few weeks to settle in.

Similar in some ways to Frampton or Jones - it’s a period of investing in what’s there just to see what side they can eventually put together for a real tilt.

How come Hatley is only getting 62% tog? For a midfielder?

Unlike most I think Hatley can be a star...
We usually manage reduced minutes for younger players stepping up from sanfl.

You're going to develop players regardless in that situation. It's not like Hinge is the finished product either.

I do agree though that Hately deserves a few weeks though to see if there is anything there, after all, we don't have anyone returning from injury that must come in.

The deliciousness of us being favoured to win vs GWS. Our fans have been screaming for an A-Grade Mid since Danger left. Can't win without one.

GWS have literally got so much A grade midfield talent that their flanks and pockets are filled with top 5 draft picks.

Its like the punters are betting on David to beat Goliath!

If we win this week, [PLAYERCARD]Leon Cameron[/PLAYERCARD]'s seat officially becomes the hottest seat in the AFL!

Hately looked very sore at the end of the game, is he injured or does he always walk like Matt Crouch?

Chase looked to be labouring with his left arm/shoulder after a contest in the last quarter. Couldn’t/wouldn’t raise it in the team song either.
Yep. Spotted all that with Jones. Good pick up...

All decent points but if you’re going to tag me in your post then you should probably get what I said correct yes? Show me where I said “a star”… thanks

I said I think he can become a great player like Lyons and Berry from Brisbane. I don’t think a massive stretch

Drewie11 --- "star"/ "great player", what's the difference? Seriously.

The reply by Vader was thoughtful, balanced and without personal criticism. Nothing to get upset about or pick even such a small point of difference about.

If you keep looking for trouble in every post, even the most benign, you'll find it. Please consider choosing your battles more carefully?
Just sayin.

Sorry... "great player" instead of "star". Either way, it's not happening.

Who are you to tell me what I should do. To me a star is a massive difference than great player but obviously we all have to live by your comparison?

I did say decent points to Vader in my post, so wasn’t picking a fight just correcting because as mentioned above MY difference between star and great player is a big difference. Maybe you should jog on and stop trying to get involved in my conversations?

10/10 for the gif

Hately needs to attack the contest a lot harder than he is at present if he's ever r going to emulate the deeds of those two contested bulls Lyons and Berry.

Good week to bring Parnell in if Jones has a niggle.
An even better week to bring in Hamill who was the travelling emergency on the weekend wasn't he?

Either player should be able to cover Jones. Wouldn't mind seeing Hinge and one of Hamill or Parnell in this week.

Would worry about who he mans up on though. Lot of big bodies in that GWS line-up. And I wouldn't want to set him up to fail in his first game.
He could lime up on Bobby Hill who with his pace can get off the chain and cut you up. I think this week we need to bring in a bit more pace against gws as they can do some damage on the outside with their runners. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hinge, Hamill/Parnell(if Jones inj) and Pedlar brought in who all have pace.

Out:
Sholl, Hately/Crouch

In:
Hinge Pedlar

If Jones is injured then Hamill/Parnell for him.

We will just have to wait and see. Hopefully for the crows he does become a great player
Fair enough. I don't see it happening - but I would be very happy for him if he did, as I am happy for all Adelaide players who "make it" (even if they prove me wrong in the process).

I think 3 changes to a team on a 2 game winning streak and no reported injuries is about as un-AFC as you can possibly get.

Don't get me wrong, i'd like to see those players get a game, but I think if we get a single change after the weekends performance it would be a shock.

I doubt we'll be making 3 changes, given the great win we had against the dogs.

I hope we see more of Hinge/Hamill/Pedlar at AFL level this year, with Parnell getting his debut... but I doubt we'll see more than 1 of them in the team this week.

Wonder how much of that is performance compared to base?

It's not likely to be much (if at all). After all, this was pre-injury issues and Adelaide would have needed to spend to meet the minimum cap threshold for the first few years after he signed (as it was a 2020 deal, so we knew we were nuking the joint).

The hope with this one is the worst of the contract is over, money wise.
