Well, if we are going to have injuries, I prefer it wasn't in game. 3 times we have lost this year, when losing an important cog early in the 1st quarter
It’s about bloody time it happened to our opposition for a change

Hope is overratedout:
Cerra - Marchy - Optimism
in:
Dow - Durdin - Hope
(actually wouldn't mind seeing Setters in the guts. In and under role, see how he goes)
Really feel for Marchy - he looked so relieved on Friday night in the rooms. Imagine how he felt on Sat/Sun when the pain started kicking in. He would have been nervous calling the doc and the coaches. Poor fella.
Get well soon Marchy. Again.![]()
On the sidelines with moonboots on both feet and in a sling, right?Bolton appeared at training.
Anyone else hearing about Saad training away from main group and TDK being sore?

Boydy is the best matchup for mine.Bolton kills most people. I really wanted a full tag on him, but we really don’t have anyone that can follow him all over the ground.
Not to mention that our team defensive structures and systems have very much solidified since then. We are slowing teams' transitions right down, which we really didn't do until several rounds into the season. Richmond are coming up against a much more established system31 scoring shots to 21 last time out
Viewed through that lens, have they caught up/improved by 50% to beat us?
I don't think they have
On the output of Charlie and Harry alone (1 goal combined Rd 1), I think we are at least the equal of if not better than our Rd 1 side - even accounting for defensive absences
Backing us to win
9 day break to Freo gameNo surprise that De Koning is sore; he has been asked to do a mountain of work, and has stood up superbly since the smashing he got from Witts. Not only has he competed hard, and for long minutes, even when overmatched (e.g. Darcy, and also Draper/Phillips), he has dished out some lessons of his own (especially against Hickey/Ladhams; I hope we will be able to look back at that as a breakout performance).
But the next three games are a difficult proposition. If he's sore now, he'll be significantly sorer once Nankervis has finished with him, irrespective of how the clearances fall. Off the back of that, we are expecting him to go alone against Darcy, and then possibly alone against Ryder/Marshall? I think something has to give.
TDK seems to end up on his back after too many centre bounces. Jumps early and past the ball and then leans back to try to tap, then goes to ground. It is going to be a long season for him with this technique. No surprise that De Koning is sore; he has been asked to do a mountain of work, and has stood up superbly since the smashing he got from Witts. Is this why Durdin is in? Young to ruck or Durdin? If TDK misses we won't have a ruck since Mirkov apparently isn't ready...
Who will ruck...JSOS with Young as backup? That's terrible. We'd be even shorter down back while Young is rucking too.
