Good coaches give it their best and then move on to a new challenge. Jack Gibson arrived at Parramatta in 1981, took the club to its first ever 1st grade title that year, also won in 1982 and 1983, then left. He coached at a total of 7 clubs and never stayed at any of them for more than 3 years.
Honestly, I don't even care if Port manages to jag a premiership this year. It's long past time he left and the club went to someone else.

Normally i would think a percentage that low means you aren't a legitimate premiership contender but Collingwood in 2022 made me rethink that. All of last year I thought they weren't that good because of their percentage but in the end they were 1 point away from a GF, and they were the only team that troubled Geelong in September.

And they've carried that belief gained in 2022 into this year and taken it to a new level.
