We’ll be a fair bit stronger next year with natural progression from our young guns, better depth and hopefully a significantly better ruck. I’d back us to be as good as Melbourne/carlton for the 3rd best team.

But I think the pies and lions are clearly the best 2 teams for at least the next year or 2. I don’t see how we suddenly make up that gap. Maybe if we hadn’t lost Dawson. Hopefully we are primed for 2025-27 when pendles/Sidebottom/mitchell/Neale drop off etc

Tbh, I always found clubs with a lot of "I don't watch football but I support X" type of fans to be the worst. They don't watch games, care about games, complain when others talk about football but suddenly X team is in a prelim and they are like "omg! How good are we? Look at me wear this scarf from the bottom of my draw that has the out of date logo on it cause I am totally like a real fan not that like someone got me this scarf in high school for a sports day to not wear my uniform!"

Richmond being the biggest offenders, followed by Hawthorn and Collingwood

Without trying to gatekeep the sport, the amount of people I knew in 2017-2020 who would say shit like "I want Dusty to have my babies!" but couldn't name 4 other Richmond players was ridiculous

Agree, I worked with a guy a number of years ago who said he was a “dead set one eyed pies man” and he declared this in the middle of the QBE box at the SCG (QBE liked me back then🤣) and he could only name two players and even then got those wrong. i didn’t know that Leon Tarrant & Steve Didak played for the pies! Another indication of this is he called the umpire “Ref” !!! I was so embarrassed to be associated with that idiot.

The game is called Aussie Rules.... We get bombarded with so much american culture crap, the last thing I want to see is a guy who has very little talent but is very tall wanking on with an american flag.. The most unenjoyable player to watch in the game

I just ask for consistency, you know? If you are a 10% supporter, great. Just don't pretend to be a 100% one just because they are winning

My partner is/was a Carlton supporter when we met but openly only watches the first quarter of the grand final before having a nap but now says she feels "more like a Swans supporter" because she can name almost the entire side without consulting her list

those fans then don't care when they lose,

they give you crap then you beat them and they are like , ohh I didn't even watch or oh well I don't care

Nothing comes close to the red and the white as a colour combo. Call me biased but I just know those colours just work.
