It’s one of the biggest myths in Footy, that clubs take it easy in planning for their opponents, depending on where they are sitting on the ladder or their form line.

I agree, but I'm referring to how switched on the opposition need to be from the opening bounce when facing us now. We've been starting well recently and have become far better at controlling momentum.

I feel like over the past couple seasons there's been a sense that more experienced teams could always run us down or put us away with one or two 10-15 minute purple patches where they'll pile on 4-5 unanswered goals.

Where as now we've shown we're capable of getting out to an early 4-5 goal lead ourselves and it will be a huge task for a side to reel us back in.

Of course there were some examples of it last year with a few good wins, but what we've put together in the last month is far more consistent and I think teams will expect that from us regularly now.

Also an understated factor in our run home is Sicily.

He's just been bubbling away at 70% of his best for most of the season. The team now knows it can perform well and even win without him back there.

If Sicily can get back to his absolute best alongside what Meek, Day and Moore are serving up in the midfield and forwardline then I think we can take things up another level again.

The style we're playing now should really suit his strengths.

There's so much connection and organised chaos in our forward 50 now. I think he'll thrive in it.

Hopefully his body will allow him to play some midfield too because I'd love to see Wingard X-factor at some CBAs.

Added to this we can take points off Fremantle, gws in Tassie. Collingwood and carlton at MCG, second game v GWS in Canberra which is better than Showgrounds for us

Potential 8 pointers. Going into final 2 games richmond and north with 11 or 12 wins already meaning only 3 or 4 losses in meantime?

As much as I would like to see us play finals, I don't see it happening. Which is fine, were still building and missing a key stocks.

Games like Carlton, GWS and Geelong Away are tough, even Richmond lets be honest we don't often beat them.

With our start, we've made it very difficult for ourselves. I'd be beyond thrilled (and, should go without saying, disappointed) if we play our part to get there but then don't make it because other results don't fall our way. As it is, I don't think we'll be THAT consistent but we will hopefully get close.

We have always had trouble with their fast, play on at all times, chaos ball into the forward 50 game style.

The amount of injuries they have right now though they are absolutely ripe for the picking.

The average ladder position of the last 10 opponents is 12th. That is a great run home and we are on a nice upwards trajectory. Certainly possible

Pre-season I suggested we were a mid-table team and should finish 6-12 this year, with finals an optimistic - but possible - outcome.

Those stats above suggest I may have even under-estimated! Make finals and who knows what could happen.

It is starting to become clear who the goodun's are. And there is an entire list about the same age - very exciting.

Will not make finals this year though - percentage is appalling and they can't win it all so there is no need.

Enter finals next year, Calsher Dear can announce himself Buddy style and then go from there.

Sicily was just about best on ground i reckon. Was also very good against the Lions, so reckon he's very close to being back to all-Australian form – the first time we've seen that this year.

Richmond have always beaten us. Flag years, when we are shit...they just always get it done.
